Dear Families,

I hope you are having a great weekend. Yesterday was a beautiful preview of autumn weather, and our students have been sharing stories of apple picking and soccer games…fall is definitely on the way! We had a terrific week at school; we continued to practice routines, establish expectations, and review academic skills while building warm, positive relationships with our students. Thanks to the efforts of our awesome students and staff, Wessagusset has a calm, happy, productive feeling - there is no better place to be! Here is some helpful information for the weeks ahead:

Picture Day is coming on Friday, September 30th! Information and details will be sent home soon.

We’re so excited that Mrs. Cosgrove and Mrs. Marobella will be continuing our special Birthday Books program! More information on this fun tradition can be found here: Birthday Books at Wess

Last week we sent home a paper copy of the WPS Handbook acknowledgement form with your child. In addition to the different policies of the district, the form has special releases to showcase your child's work and photo through our media sources, as well as share contact information with our Parent Council. Please review the handbook here: WPS Handbook and send the form back to school as soon as possible. Thank you for your help with this!

The Weymouth Food Pantry offers a “Backpack Program” to provide food for students who would benefit from additional food to meet their nutritional needs. If you would like more information about this free, confidential program, or want to enroll your child(ren), please complete this Food Pantry Backpack Form.

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15th-October 15th! You can find some interesting facts for kids here: Hispanic Heritage Month

The Weymouth Fire department will be holding an Open House at Station #3 on Sunday, October 9th. It will be a great opportunity to meet our amazing Weymouth firefighters and learn important safety information. More info can be found here: WFD Open House

Wessagusset’s Open House will be held on Monday, September 26th from 6:00-8:00 pm. This is always a fun night, and our Parent Council’s Raffle Baskets are a well-loved part! Basket donations are a huge help - if you would be interested in donating a basket, please find info here: Raffle baskets

Calling all gardeners or yard work pros! Our front walkway and entrance are in need of some beautification and color. If anyone is willing to volunteer their time or donate some flowers, we would truly appreciate it!
