Advanced Learning & AIG #Elevated
Welcome to the Land of Advanced Learning & AIG
Academically or Intellectually Gifted Students (AIG)
Vance County Schools has a number of 3-12 AIG students who as the VCS AIG Coordinators it is our pleasure to serve. This school year 2024-2025, we have been working towards meeting the needs of our AIG population. It is our goal to #Elevate their learning, for our district is committed to ensuring that we provide an experiential education to all our students. Our Vision at Vance County Schools is to provide an adaptable educational setting where learning is a catalyst to the pursuit of dreams in an evolving society.
Students have participated in a range of learning experiences available to our AIG students through diverse opportunities. We have, and will continue to offer, full and half day AIG Experiences that are being held at our Center for Innovation (CFI). All teachers are expected to differentiate and accelerate their instruction as needed as we all strive to meet the academic and social needs of our AIG learners.
You can contact Dr. K. Morrison-Thomas (kmorrison@vcs.k12.nc.us) and Mrs. L. Rigsbee (lrigsbee@vcs.k12.nc.us) (VCS AIG Coordinators) for any additional information that you may need as it relates to VCS AIG and Advanced Learning program.
