KELLY SCHOOL UPDATES
School Clerks Honored with Name, Strength, Story Award!
At the Kelly School, Ms. Ada and Señor José contribute to our students’ excellent attendance by making personal phone calls to the home of every absent student every morning. By demonstrating in such a tangible way that we notice and we care when kids aren’t at school, Ms. Ada and Señor José help build both a culture of accountability and a sense of belonging! Plus, as the Kelly team all know firsthand, their warm smiles, always-full candy dishes, care to keep our shared spaces looking festive and our celebrations celebratory, and above-and-beyond dedication are so central to the Kelly School community!
Kelly School Appreciates our MCB Custodial Team!
The custodians who take care of the Kelly School and other schools at the MCB Complex are amazing! They keep our school safe and sparkling, day in and day out, and they are among the friendly faces that help welcome our students each day.
We are so grateful for their hard work as part of our Kelly School Team!
Feliz Mes de la Herencia Hispana
Kelly School 3rd grade teachers Rosa Hernández and Kate Vitale brought the world to their classes during Hispanic Heritage Month by inviting parents to visit and share about some of the cultures and countries that reflect our student body. Throughout September, the classes had guests that discussed Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala, and today they covered the Dominican Republic! ¡Feliz mes de la herencia hispana!
Coaching Cafe
The Kelly School Coaches held their second annual Coaching Café. Teachers dropped by to grab a drink, a snack, and the Kelly Coaches' Menus of Service to learn how coaches can support them in their classrooms.
SOKOLOWSKI SCHOOL UPDATES

Sokolowski hosted our first Parent Coffee Hour, giving families a chance to meet members of our school leadership and student support teams, including the principal, assistant principal, parent liaison, clerk, ETL, social worker, and counselor. Over coffee and treats, families learned how each role supports students and families, shared questions and ideas, and made new connections with one another.

CHELSEA VIRTUAL LEARNING ACADEMY UPDATES
Building Community Beyond the Classroom
Last week, Chelsea Virtual Learning Academy students had their first in-person days of the school year! Our teachers traveled in, and students and staff spent the day together at Hale Reservation. It was a wonderful opportunity to build community, connect with one another, and step outside of our comfort zones—including taking on some climbing challenges!
Museum Exploration
CVLA students also had the opportunity to visit the Museum of Science, where they had a great time exploring interactive exhibits, learning about science and the world around them, and engaging in hands-on activities. Students also enjoyed seeing some of the museum’s live animals, making the experience both educational and fun. It was a great opportunity for students to learn outside of the classroom while spending time together and creating new memories.
Purpose Matinee
This week, our students attended a student matinee performance of Purpose, written by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins. Students had the opportunity to experience live theater and engage with a thought-provoking story that explored family, identity, relationships, and personal beliefs. The experience gave students a chance to connect what they saw on stage to meaningful conversations and perspectives beyond the classroom. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to enjoy the arts while learning and experiencing something new together.
