🌟 Congratulations to Our Student Leaders! 🌟
We are proud to announce that two of our students, Dellina Asfaw and Vivian Mina, have been selected to serve on the 2025–26 Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council! 🎉
This year, nearly 800 students across the district applied for the council, making this the largest applicant pool ever. Dellina and Vivian’s selection is a testament to their leadership, dedication, and commitment to elevating student voice at McClure Health Science High School and across Gwinnett County Public Schools.
We can’t wait to see the impact they will make as they represent our school and collaborate with student leaders from across the district.
🌟 Leading with Purpose for Our MLs 🌟
This week, Ms. Ray led an impactful session for our staff focused on supporting our multilingual learners. She emphasized the importance of not only providing accommodations but also teaching students how to use them with fidelity so they can access learning with confidence and independence.
Nearly 70 teachers who serve ML students participated in the session, gaining strategies and resources to strengthen their practice and ensure equity for each and every student.
Thank you, Ms. Ray, for your leadership and for equipping us all to better serve our students!
🛍️ School Store Grand Opening! 🎉
Our Pulse School Store opened this week and the excitement was through the roof—there were lines outside the door! Students couldn’t wait to explore, shop, and try some of our tasty items.
A huge thank-you to everyone who helped make the launch such a success. We can’t wait to see how the store continues to grow and bring energy to our campus.
🌟 Teacher of the Year Spotlight 🌟
We continue to celebrate the many talents of our Teacher of the Year, Savannah Guzman! Recently, Ms. Zamora shared that Ms. Guzman's artwork was featured in the University of Kentucky School of Art and Visual Studies Alumni Show – 10-Year Celebration.
The exhibition showcased 87 selected pieces from 53 artists who studied at UK between 2015–2025. Ms. Guzman's work was chosen out of more than 173 submissions—a testament to her creativity, passion, and dedication to her craft.
We are so proud to have Ms. Guzman represent MHSHS not only in the classroom but also in the wider arts community. Thank you, Ms. Zamora, for highlighting this wonderful accomplishment!

Celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month!
September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, the perfect time to unlock all the resources your local public library has to offer. Did you know every GCPS student already has access to the Gwinnett County Public Library system—late fine-free and ready to use? Their school ID doubles as a library card, giving them access to books, audiobooks, movies, Learning Labs, and digital resources like Tutor.com for homework help.
Parents and guardians can sign up for their own library card too. Visit the Gwinnett County Public Library website to apply online and explore everything the library has to offer.
If you or your student have questions about resources through the public library, feel free to reach out to Laura Sly at laura.sly@gcpsk12.org.

Input from all stakeholders (parents, students, teachers, administrators, and community members) is crucial to the development and success of our school counseling program. There are only TWO meetings yearly - one per semester. Please consider joining us for the 25-26 school year!
