Y3 & 4 Productions
Yesterday saw Year 4 perform their fabulous production, which I know was very well received by all those who took time out to watch the show. Tonight, we have our equally talented Year 3 students, making this another fun week of enriched curriculum experiences for the children.
I'd like to acknowledge the Year 3 and 4 teams for their hard work, supported by the wonderful Clive Jepson, who brought his creativity and artistic skills to the props and sets once again.
Te Wiki o te Reo Māori
Next week, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week).
This important tradition grew from a single ‘Māori Language Day’, first held in 1972. The full week dedicated to te reo Māori we are familiar with today was introduced in 1975, and we look forward to continuing the tradition and promoting this unique taonga, passed down for New Zealanders of any heritage - half a century on!
Teacher Contract Negotiations
So far, agreements have not been reached, which means members are currently engaged in the process of voting on potential action in the event a further offer is not accepted.
At this stage, a confirmed outcome has not been decided, so the hope is that a mutual agreement can be achieved and any industrial action avoided. We expect to have updates in the coming days, and will, of course, keep you informed of any further developments.
Last Day of Term
We look ahead to the final week of term with a reminder that we finish at the usual time of 3pm on Friday, September 19. Ice blocks will be on sale following our end of term assembly, thanks to our amazing PTA!
