ADMINISTRATIVE ANNOUNCEMENTS ADMINISTRATIVE ANNOUNCEMENTS

Important: Complete the Free and Reduced-Price Meals (FARM) Application

Dear CMIT Parents and Guardians,

We need your support to ensure our CMIT schools receive the funding necessary to provide the best possible education for your children. Due to changes under the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future, our schools face budget challenges, partly because of low submission rates for Free and Reduced-Price Meals (FARM) applications.

Even if you think your family may not qualify, we strongly encourage every parent to complete the application. Each submitted form helps secure essential funding for your school, and unsubmitted forms could mean a loss of $7,800 per student.

Why is this important?

  • FARM applications determine eligibility for free/reduced meals and additional funding for your child’s school.

  • Schools lose significant resources if families do not complete these forms, even if they may not qualify.

How easy is it to apply?

  • It only takes 5-10 minutes to complete the application.

  • Applications are simple and available in English, Spanish, and French.

  • You can submit online at www.myschoolapps.com or by following the attached instructions.

Income eligibility guidelines are available on the district website:

https://www.pgcps.org/offices/food-and-nutrition/free-and-reduced-meals

Please take a moment to complete the application today. Every application submitted strengthens our ability to serve your children and our community.

For assistance or questions, feel free to contact your school front office.

Thank you for supporting our CMIT schools!

We Need You!

At March's Board Meeting, the Board of Education moved to charge Superintendent House with bringing us more collaboration and transparency. Based on the latest email from CLF, there have been even larger cuts proposed as of Monday, April 7, without further collaboration with charter school operators. We CANNOT take our foot off of the gas and need to show up strong on April 24. Please mark your schedules, spin up carpools if needed, and we need to show up strong in our orange. We will need more testimonies and we will need more letters this month also. Please sign up for a PTO Membership or text message updates if you would like to hear from us regarding this: Text @cmitespto to 81010 to sign up for our text messages.

Tigers! Thank you for your hard work this week! Now its time for a break and refresher! Happy Spring Break! The subject content below will resume the week we return! Thank you for everything!

Next week in Social Studies, we will be traveling west and overseas by railroad. Many Americans believed in Manifest Destiny, or the idea of expanding across North America. The transcontinental railroad played an important part in the growth of our nation. It linked the East Coast to the West Coast. Many cities grew around the railroad stations, and workers from the East moved west to make new homes. The railroads helped boost the economy and move goods and products more quickly across the country. So All Aboard!!!!!!!!!! Let the Adventure begin!

Math
This week in Math, we will be analyzing patterns and relationships.
