Bulldog Bulletin
Week of October 13th
Every Voice, Every Heart, Every Day
Last week, our Kindergarteners had a special visit from the Andover Fire Department!
It’s always such a meaningful experience when we have the opportunity to welcome heroes from our own community. Students were excited to explore the fire truck, learn about fire safety, and meet the firefighters who help keep us safe every day.
Looking ahead:
Next week is a short one with no school on Monday, but it’s packed with learning and adventure!
-
Fourth graders will head out on an Archaeology Dig, uncovering artifacts and exploring the past.
-
Third graders will travel to the Seacoast Science Center to deepen their understanding of the ocean as part of their Arts and Letters unit.
The crisp fall weather has officially settled in—perfect for field trips and hands-on learning!
Monday, October 13: Fall Recess (No School)
Saturday, October 25: Spooky Fun Fair
Tuesday, November 4: No school-Parent-Teacher Conferences
Friday, November 7: No school for kindergarten; Kindergarten Parent-Teacher Conferences
Tuesday, November 11: No school; Veterans Day
WELCOME from the Music Room
We are planning a special presentation at our Harvest Festival (a performance in November) to represent all of the voices at Sanborn School. We would like each family to take a picture and make a short video sharing how you would say the word “welcome” in your home language. We would like to have as many languages as possible represented. Please go to this link to find out more and upload your pictures/videos!
Carpool drop off Reminders
Please be sure to pull up as far as you can in the loop.
Please do not pull around the car in front of you.
If you need to go into the building please park in the parking lot not in the front loop because it is an active drop off area.
Fall DIBELS (Grades 1–5) & Reading/Math MAP Growth (Grades 3–5)
On October 10, 2025, parents and guardians received Family Reports that summarize your child’s beginning-of-the-year assessments. These reports came home with your child.
- DIBELS (Grades 1–5): A literacy screener that helps us understand your child’s reading development and guide instruction.
- MAP Growth (Grades 3–5): An adaptive assessment in reading and math that shows your child’s current learning level and growth over time.
For more information:
- MAP Growth: NWEA Family Toolkit or Andover Public Schools MAP Assessment
- DIBELS: Andover Public Schools mCLASS Literacy Assessments
These beginning-of-the-year results help teachers inform instruction, personalize learning, and monitor the growth of individual students. Administrators use the data to assess performance and progress at each grade level, school, and district. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher or principal.
