NNCS Flyer Update
Volume 22 ~ February 13, 2026
π‘ Superintendent's Message π‘
Breakfast and big ideas! βοΈπ Last month, 17 Student Council members sat down with our Board of Education to discuss governance and leadership.
We are so proud of these students for their initiative and preparation.
Thank you to our participating Board members for making this such a meaningful morning. We canβt wait to do it again next year!
Dear Flyer Friends and Families,
As we head into our upcoming mid-winter break, I want to wish everyone a restful and rejuvenating time away. I hope you enjoy this opportunity to slow down and spend some quality time with your learners.
I am also proud to share a highlight from Kindness Week: the Student Councilβs Breakfast with the Board. The 2025-2026 NNCS Student Council members approached the Board of Education with a request to come together for breakfast to learn more about the complexities of Board governance.
Our student members came incredibly prepared with thoughtful questions that sparked truly insightful conversations. It was a wonderful bridge between our student leaders and our district leadership.
A special thank you to Board Members Kim Smith, Sue Mackey, James Dillon, Amy LaCroix, and Mary Ellen Todd for their time and participation. This event was so successful and enjoyable for everyone involved that we are already making plans to host this as an annual tradition!

π°π° News from the NNCS Student Council π°π°
February 9-13 was Bus Driver Appreciation Week. Student Council surprised the transportation team with gift bags full of snacks. We hope our bus drivers know how much we appreciate the hard work they put in to helping NNCS students!
π€ NNCS Flying Squirrels Robotics Team Competes at Clarkson π€
Pictured here are Madison Plantz, Ty Monette, and Xavier Niedermaier - (missing from photo - Patrick Nolan) who competed in the the First Tech Challenge at Clarkson last weekend. The NNCS Flying Squirrels received a ton of compliments on their robot, Woody, and the grit they demonstrated at the day long competition. They had the smallest team there (many of our team members were at the All County Festival B), but still brought the force! They have set-up a few matches with local teams so that they can continue engineering and perfecting their robot and code this year.
We are proud of these students for taking on this tech challenge!
