ANNOUNCEMENTS
Please share your voice!
At Henderson Mill, we are committed to continuous growth and improvement for our students and families.
Our anonymous parent suggestion link, available below, allows families to share ideas and feedback at any time. Responses are reviewed by our Administrative Team, Guiding Coalition Team, and PAC to help guide school planning and decisions.
Our Student Advisory Council (SAC Team) did an amazing job serving as student leaders and providing input that is essential to improving our school community. We also have a student suggestion box that gives ALL students the opportunity to share their ideas and experiences. Our SAC Team and Administrative Team review these suggestions and concerns to help strengthen our school.
Thank you to the parents who have already shared feedback. If you have not yet participated, we encourage you to do so your voice truly matters.
Please see the link below to share your suggestions.
School Safety Drills
Last week, we successfully conducted both our Fire Drill and Level 3 Safety Drill while the DCSD Safe Team observed. Our students demonstrated excellent focus, responsibility, and understanding of safety procedures. Thanks to this strong teamwork, Henderson Mill earned a perfect score of 100 plus 2 extra credit points, totaling 102 points.
These drills are essential in helping us maintain a safe and prepared school environment. Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our school community safe.
Subject: Student Assignment Project Scenarios and Opportunity for Feedback
I understand how personal this conversation is because our schools are more than buildings; they’re communities, memories, and milestones for our families.
Here’s what you should know about the scenarios and the process:
· At this stage, no decisions have been made.
· The scenarios being discussed are a starting point for feedback.
· This feedback phase will continue through May.
· The feedback collected through our survey will be used to reiterate and then release new scenarios for community feedback.
· Just because a school is or is not impacted in this first round of scenarios doesn’t mean that won’t change in the second or third rounds.
· Final recommendations are not expected until late 2026.
· There will be no changes for the 2026–27 school year.
· Any approved changes would be phased in over 6–8 years.
During this process, every school may be impacted in some way, which is why your voice matters so much.
I encourage you to review the information and FAQs available on the SAP website, visit the links below, attend an upcoming community meeting, and share your feedback via the SAP Scenario Survey.
Thank you for engaging in this important work for our students and our future.
