IMPORTANT - ParentSquare App
Johnson Creek Schools will begin using ParentSquare on Wednesday, November 4, to streamline school communication and help meet Wisconsin Act 89 requirements.
ParentSquare provides one convenient place for families to receive school announcements, classroom newsletters, and updates. Families will also be able to complete permission slips, sign up for volunteer opportunities, and communicate with teachers and staff.
Parents can customize their notifications to receive messages immediately or in a daily digest at the end of the day. Notifications can be delivered by text message, email, or both. Traditional email will remain an acceptable way to communicate with the school.
Watch for a SkyNotify message with more information about ParentSquare, its benefits, and how to get started.
Christmas Neighbors
In 1952, Clarence “Pop” Wendt started a program to ensure that all children from families in need throughout Jefferson County would receive gifts for Christmas. Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of local individuals, organizations, and businesses, the Christmas Neighbors program continues to reach record numbers of local children. Last year, over 500 families received gifts through our Toy Distribution and Adopt-A-Family programs.
Could you please help us get registration information out to eligible families that you serve?
Jefferson County Christmas Neighbors is now accepting online applications for the Toy Distribution Program and will be accepting applications for both the Adopt a Family Program and Toy Distribution Program starting November 2nd via the phone lines! Please note you must be an active participant of a State-funded child welfare program, and be the legal guardian of at least one child (infant to 18 years of age) to be considered for acceptance into either program.
Eligible families can register online NOW for the Toy Distribution Program, or may apply for the Adopt A Family or Toy Distribution Program via our traditional phone lines (920-674-4499) which will be open Monday, November 2nd-Thursday, December 10th from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Social Emotional Learning - Second Step
Empathy
This month, our school wide theme is empathy. In the classrooms, we’ll be reminding students to have empathy, identify their own and others’ feelings, notice and respect same and different feelings, and show compassion. Compassion involves saying kind words or doing something helpful to show you care how another person feels. When students can identify, understand, and respond in a caring way to how someone else is feeling, it helps create a positive and accepting school climate.
