Main Office Notes
Arrival Update: Now that we are settling into our morning routines, we are adjusting to our typical arrival time by closing doors at 9:05am. After 9:05am you must park and walk your student in to sign them in as tardy.
Thank you for helping us to get our days started safely and smoothly!
For dismissal, if you are arriving by car please remain in the lower lot until 3:25pm or 2:00pm on Wednesdays. This enables us to give access to vans and buses. Please DO NOT drive around other families loading cars. We appreciate your help and patience!
Back To School Nights
We have 2 Back to School Night events:
*Thursday, September 19th for First and Second Grades
*Tuesday, September 24th for PreK and Kindergarten.
Each event is an informational night for adults only from 6:30-7:45pm.
Attendance at Davis
If your child is going to be out of school, or tardy, or dismissed, please remember to call our Attendance Line at 781-918-4965. You can leave a message on this line anytime, day or evening. Please call before 9am if your child will be absent on any given day and before 1:15pm if your child's dismissal is in need of change.
CORI Forms
Anyone who wishes to volunteer in their child's classroom must have a current CORI form in our system. In order for your completed form to be sent to our Central Office, we will need to take a look at your ID to verify your current address. This needs to be done in person. No photocopies can be accepted. Cori forms are valid for the current school year only and usually take 5 business days to clear. Valid CORIs are good for the entire district...no need to fill out separate forms for different schools!
News from Nurse Leah
I hope everyone is settling into their school routines with bus rides, longer days, lots of learning, and fun!
Back to school germs are no joke, so here are a few important reminders:
- If your child is diagnosed with an illness such as strep, covid, flu, etc., please report that information on the illness line, email to let me know at Leah_Devereaux@bedfordps.org, or call into my office at 781-918-4906.
- Please see this link for our up to date illness guidelines. Children should not be returning to school until 24 hours after vomiting, diarrhea, or fevers, without the use of any fever reducing medications.
- There have been a few reported cases of lice. See this link for information on checking for lice and lice treatment.
- Please send in a spare outfit for your child for accidents, spills, or muddy days. We could use some extra sweatpants, leggings, socks and underwear for girls and boys in sizes YXS-YL if anyone has some to pass on! We do not need shirts or sweatshirts at this time.
If your child borrows clothing from the nurse, please launder it promptly and return it so that we can offer it to other students who may need them!
- If you haven’t already done so, please complete the emergency form that your child brought home on the first day of school. Any student missing one will receive another copy in their child's folder.
Thank you for helping to keep the Davis School healthy!

School Nutrition Information
Bedford School Nutrition would like to help families to understand the Free Meal Process.
All students are able to receive one free lunch and one free breakfast (when available) each school day. This service is available through USDA and State of Massachusetts funding.
All families are asked to please fill out a free/reduced meal application. Why? Because there are other federally funded programs in the district that rely on the information from those applications for additional funding. If you are absolutely sure that you do not fall into the free or reduced category, there is no need to fill out the application. If you are not sure, please fill out the application, send it in and or call the Nutrition office at 781-275-9129 for assistance or thomas_houle@bedfordps.org or olivia_marks@bedfordps.org.
Students are asked to add or have funds in their My School Bucks accounts for other food items such as snacks, additional water or milk or second meals or entrees. Parents or guardians may add funds to their student’s accounts by following the link below.
https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ver2/getmain?requestAction=home
Students must take a complete meal for it to be free. A complete meal contains at least 3 of the 5 offered components and 1 has to be a fruit or vegetable. This means if a student doesn’t take a complete meal, they will be charged the ala carte price for the items they have. Please take advantage of the no cost free meal option.
Bedford School Nutrition will begin expanding the breakfast program in all schools in phases over the course of this school year. More information will be shared as this program becomes more available.
Please call the School Nutrition Office if you have any questions. 781-275-9129
