Hello CELC & MVLA Families,

I hope you all enjoyed a the three-day weekend. My family and I spent the whole weekend at a volleyball tournament in Las Vegas. It was a great experience for my daughter and her team to play more competitive teams.

Teachers are gearing up to complete student assessments and finish report cards. The report cards will be sent home on March 9th. We are looking forward to Dr. Seuss Week. We have activities and dress up days beginning February 28th. Thank you to our PTA for purchasing hats and other goodies.

AUSD is collecting data to help plan and prepare for the 2022-23 school year. Please take the time to fill out the survey by February 22nd. Each school site has their own link. Please make sure that you fill one out for each of your students. If you haven't had a chance to fill our the survey yet, her are the links below.

Mary Barkley, our Office Clerk, continues to work hard to keep up on study contracts and update student attendance. To ensure that your student keeps up on learning and gets credit for attendance, please turn in your student's contract work at the office. We appreciate your partnership in your child's education.

The District continues to be guided by California Department of Public Health and our experiences from last year. Thank you for your support while we continue to navigate the 2021-22 school year.

Important Updates and Information:

Mark your calendars for CELC's Open House on March 31st.
EAK parents- The PTA has CELC shirts available for purchase in the office.
Please make sure that you send your student to school with a Chromebook (fully charged), mask and a water bottle daily.
The PTA is busy organizing the Spring Fling that is scheduled for April 29th. If you are interested in helping, please contact the Stephanie Green at 619-659-8250.
Part 1 of Kindergarten registration for the 2022-23 school year is open. Please contact the office for information.
As a reminder, COVID-19 testing opportunities for students, staff and community members are now only provided on Wednesdays in the bus circle of CELC/SHES.
Please make sure that Chromebooks are charged daily and ready for use in the classroom.
As a reminder, CELC official start time is 9:05 am. Students are not considered late until 9:06 am. Please check into the office for a late slip to ensure that your child is not marked absent.
Our next district-wide kindness dress up day is March 2nd. "Hats off to Kind People"- wear your favorite hat to school.
Students can be dropped off at the curb in the morning as long as there is a staff member present and it is before 9:05 am.

CUBS IN THE COMMUNITY

The Cubs in the Community tradition continues this school year. Mrs. RIpke's goal is to connect with 100 Cubs (Future, Former, or Current) by the 100th day of school. Building relationships with our students is important to us! If you see Mrs. Ripke out in the community, encourage your student to say hi. Not only does it create an opportunity to connect, it also supports students' language and communication skills. Follow the sightings on our FB page. Volunteers Wanted

Please contact Stephanie Green in the office if you have any questions about PTA and any other volunteer opportunities.If you haven't already, please make sure all paperwork is completed and turned in. This includes an up-to-date TB test, the volunteer form, and proof of the COVID-19 vaccination. Persons not vaccinated are required to show a negative PCR COVID-19 test within the previous 7 days of your volunteer day. Please check with your child's teacher for any opportunities coming up. The office could utilize volunteers as well. Let us know if you like to organize!

We have a need for adult volunteers to help clean out some spaces on campus. If anyone is willing to volunteer after school or on the weekend, please let us know.

AUSD is Hiring
