Saxton Newsletter 22.10.26
Dear parents and carers,
What a fantastic first half term we have had at Saxton Primary School! It has been wonderful to see the children learning, growing in confidence and making the most of the many opportunities school life has to offer. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the warm welcome and support you have given me during my first half term as Headteacher. It has been a pleasure getting to know the children and families, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a special school. I look forward to working with you all as we continue to make Saxton a place where every child can thrive.
It was lovely to welcome so many parents and family members to our Harvest Festival. The children did a wonderful job sharing their songs and readings, and I hope you enjoyed celebrating this special occasion with us. Thank you for joining us and for your generous contributions of food.
As you know, every Friday we have our 'Golden Book' worship, when we celebrate children's successes from the week. After half term, we will be holding this in the church every Friday morning at 9.15am. Parents, carers and family members are welcome to attend this special time of celebration each week, if they are available and would like to attend. It is a lovely opportunity to share in the children’s achievements and celebrate the many ways in which they are living out our vision of ‘Good people, doing well’.
As the weather turns wetter, we would like all children to have a pair of wellies in school, so that we can use the field more in winter at playtimes and lunchtimes, giving the children a bigger space to play. Willow children already have wellies in school, but it would be great if Maple children could also have a pair here. I will be getting several spare pairs of various sizes over half term, so please don't worry if you aren't able to send some in.
Just a reminder that it is the FOSS AGM on Tuesday 10th November at 7pm at the school and all welcome. Please do come along if you can to hear about what the group does, and to find out how you can support if you are able.
After our half-term break, we will return for what promises to be an exciting few weeks, full of festive activities, Christmas celebrations and plenty of opportunities for great learning. In the meantime I hope you all enjoy a lovely half term, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready to go!
