From the Principal's Desk
Hello Little Viking Families,
Happy Fall! I can't believe it is already October. Thank you for all of your support as we have settled into our school routines. Academics are really starting to take off in all of the classrooms, so just a friendly reminder to please make sure your students get to school on time.
Please read below for a few reminders and updates:
1) Extra clothes - please make sure your student has a pair of extra clothes just in case that can be kept at school. We have had quite a few students left waiting in the office for an extra change of clothes. Not just potty accidents but for lunch spills, sickness etc. Having a spare set definitely comes in handy. If you have any extras you'd like to donate - we will take them!
2) Arrival Reminders: If you are dropping off in the loop, your child can independently get out and you should stay in your car.
Dismissal reminders: Please park and come onto the blacktop when picking up your child. In addition, please come completely onto the blacktop to wait for your student. It is safer for the students to be united with parents behind the secure fence rather than on the sidewalk close to the drive/parking lot. And just a general reminder to maintain a cautious speed in the lot. Thank you!
3) Upcoming October dates: October is busy! We kicked off our month long Reading BINGO and we have upcoming field trips and events. Check the "Dates to Remember" section below, teachers will send more information about upcoming field trips soon!
Have a great weekend,
-Mrs. Scanlan

Snack Time
Reminder!
All of our SC students enjoy a daily snack time. Please help your child be ready by packing a snack that is separate from their lunch each day.
Thanks to a generous donation from FTC, we’ve had a small supply of extra snacks on hand for students who occasionally forget. However, these are going quickly, and we won’t be able to keep extras in the office much longer. We’d love your help in making sure each child has their own snack every day so no one has to miss out.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the office.

Lunch Balances
Overdue Breakfast/ Lunch Balances
Don't forget to check and pay any overdue lunch balances. You can check balances and pay on your parent Skyward account. You can also send cash or check payment to school with your child in a marked envelope with name and what payment is for. The office will then account for the cash or check payment on your student's Skyward.

I Love U Guys ❤️
Standard Response Protocol
Salt Creek District 48 has adopted an emergency protocol response from the I Love U Guys Foundation. This is a program that has been adopted by many of the schools within DuPage County. Over the summer, the administrative team attended training on the protocol and is passing along the training to all staff. We also want to make families aware of the five different protocols so you can be familiar with the language you may hear your child or the school use.
Payments & Fees
In your parent portal in skyward, click on the fee payment tile, then in the far right hand top corner click on the "make online payments" button. This will take you to Revtrak. Make sure to sign up before you try to make payment. Once you can sign in, click the Make a Payment button in the middle of the page. This new service will streamline the payments so you can make a payment or set up recurring payments. This is directly connected to Skyward so you see the money immediately go to your child's account. If you have any questions please email or call your school office.
Preschool Payments: Once in Revtrak you will see in the upper right area an arrow next to SHOP. Click the arrow and pick Preschool in order for you to complete your payment. If you have any questions please email or call the Salt Creek school office.
