HallsvilleISD Parent, Family, and Community: Fall 2025

Welcome Back!

At HISD we strive to partner with families to raise highly competent, well educated students. Please reach out to your campus or the district if we can assist you in meeting the challenges of raising kids; it's the hardest (but most rewarding) job we'll ever do as parents and educators.

HISD Nutritional Backpack Program HISD Nutritional Backpack Program

To Make a Donation

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you if you participated last year and personally request your consideration and support for the Hallsville ISD Nutritional Backpacks for Kids Project for the 2025-2026 school year.

Hallsville ISD began this project in December, 2006, to address a growing need within our school. The purpose of this project is to provide food on weekends and holidays to children that exhibit signs of chronic hunger and do not have food when they are not in school.

This project relies solely on the generous donations of our community. Our counselors distribute the food to the students and our bags are packed by volunteers within the community. Since we have no overhead with this project, 100% of all donations go toward the purchase of the food.

We are asking that you consider making a donation to this project. All donations are tax deductible. Donations can be made by check, cash, or credit card.

  • A donation form is included and should be sent to:

    • Diane Hicks

c/o Federal/Special Programs

P.O. Box 810

Hallsville, TX 75650

  • Checks should be made out to: Hallsville ISD Backpack Project.

  • For online donations: https://hallsville.revtrak.net/donations/#/v/Backpack-Program

Your continued support is critical to meeting the nutritional needs of our students.

To Receive Services

The Hallsville ISD Nutritional Backpacks for Kids Project provides nutritional meals and snacks on weekends and holidays for children whose primary source of food is the school cafeteria. Each child receives easy to prepare nutritional food every Friday afternoon.

Requirements to participate in the program this year have changed. You may meet the requirements in the following ways:

  • Have an established membership with the Hallsville Outreach Center,
  • Meet the qualifications of the McKinney-Vento Act, or
  • Submit an application for services. Applications will be accepted/denied through a committee established through the HISD Special Programs office. Applications can be picked up at any campus, the district administration office, or accessed online at https://forms.gle/VnFjdo1kTWEfj1N9A
