Message from the Principals

Dear Mill Creek families,

It is hard to believe March is already here. With March comes Parent-Teacher Conferences, Reading Week, and of course, Spring Break! We are also excited for warmer weather.

Please don't forget that we have three amazing teachers that are nominated for this year's Columbia Fund for Academic Excellence Award. We are looking for letters of support from current and past families. See the flyer below for more details. Let's make sure our fantastic teachers have lots of support.

Summer School enrollment opens Monday, March 2. Since we are sharing space with Beulah Ralph, we will not be able to offer as many class openings as in the past. Be sure to enroll early so that your child has a spot.

Reading Week will occur the week prior to Spring Break. We are still hoping for parent volunteers to come read to our students. We would also love hometown heroes to come volunteer to read on Monday, March 16. See the flyer below for additional information.

Thank you to everyone who donated snacks and drinks to fuel our teachers during Parent-Teacher Conferences. We look forward to seeing you all at school this week!

Go Cougars!

Amy Rogers & Kurtis Jensen

Columbia Fund for Academic Excellence

Please send in your letters of support for Mill Creek's nominees for the Columbia Fund for Academic Excellence Award by Monday, March 2 at 5:00 pm. They may be emailed to Amy Rogers at amrogers@cpsk12.org. The Columbia Fund for Academic Excellence was established in the 1979-80 school year with an initial gift from Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lewis. Other individuals, community organizations, and businesses have contributed to the fund since that time. The fund was established for the purpose of making cash awards each year to educators in the Columbia Public Schools who are selected as exemplary in certain categories.

Updates from PTA

PTA Board Interest for Next Year

We’d love for you to consider joining the Mill Creek PTA board next year. It’s a manageable commitment, a great team, and a meaningful way to support our students and staff.

Open positions include:
• VP of Committees
• VP of Communications
• Financial Assistant

Board Position Spotlight: VP of Committees

We’re looking for someone to join the PTA Board as our VP of Committees. This is a great role for a parent who enjoys helping behind the scenes and supporting school events as needed.

This position primarily supports fundraising events and school activities. That may include recruiting volunteers, coordinating parts of an event, or offering support to help everything run smoothly. It’s a wonderful way to stay involved and support our school community.

The time commitment is flexible, ranging from a few hours a week to little or no time during quieter weeks. We understand that family comes first, and our board works together to ensure no one feels overwhelmed. The role can grow to match the time and energy you’re able to give.

If you’re interested, or if you know someone who might be a great fit, we would love to hear from you. Please click the link below to learn more about each position and share your interest in joining the board: https://docs.google.com/.../1FAIpQLSfPtyLAmTROCJ.../viewform
