Next week Deer Run will be celebrating Warm Wishes Spirit Week! We will have a Spirit Week and donation theme each day. Items that are donated will be supporting One Dublin to help our Dublin Community.

Warm Wishes Spirit Week Daily Themes and Donation Items

• Monday, November 17 - Hat Day - Please donate new warm winter hats

• Tuesday, November 18 - Beach Day - Please donate new, warm gloves and mittens

• Wednesday, November 19 - PJ and Comfy Day - Please donate toothbrushes and toothpaste

• Thursday, November 20 - Shiny & Metallic Day - Please donate deodorant

• Friday, November 21 - Color for a Cause - Please donate soap or body wash

Next week, we will also begin our Penny Harvest. Penny Harvest Donations (cash, coin, or check payable to “See Kids Dream”) will be accepted through December 5th. Students will research and interview non-profits to direct Penny Harvest donations.

Have you been meaning to clean out the playroom because your kids have outgrown certain toys? The kindergarten team can put those toys to good use! They are looking for gently used items for "purposeful play" in the classroom. Please do not buy anything!

We will soon be sharing details about our Adopt-a-Family Gift Drive for One Dublin. We will be collecting holiday gifts for three families in our community. Gift sign-ups will be shared next week to our Facebook group and newsletter, so stay tuned for all the details!

All of our Deer Run students will be attending a play at Jerome High School on Tuesday, November 25. The play is titled The Wind in the Willows - Young@Part.

Students will leave at noon and the play will begin at 12:30 PM. Paper permission slips have been sent home with students this week - please return at soon as possible.

If your child will not be in school that day, please remember to submit an absence request in Infinite Campus.

Unfortunately we cannot allow last minute substitute volunteers in place of those signed up for parties if they have not completed the background check process. Thank you for your understanding. There is additional information on the background check process below, and please contact Mrs. Guthrie in the front office if you have any questions!

REMINDER: ALL parent/family members that wish to volunteer for the 2025-2026 school year will need to have a completed background check on file with the district. This will apply to classroom volunteers, PTO events, field trips and any other school event. This online process is quick, secure and free for applicants. Click button below to complete the process!

PLEASE NOTE: If any family member, other than a parent, is applying to volunteer please inform Carol Guthrie at guthrie_carol@dublinschools.net to ensure a timely approval!

CURRENT VOLUNTEERS: Be sure to double check the expiration date on your volunteer card. You cannot "renew" your card and instead must complete the background check process again before it expires. Thank you for attending to this well in advance of your volunteering date.

Are you willing to help the PTO on events throughout the year? "PTO Helping Hands" is a great way to get involved without making a long term commitment. If we are running short on volunteers for an event or have a small ask here or there, we will reach out to this list. Please sign up at the link below!

There are a number of after school classes available for our Deer Run students, including art, robotics, fashion, engineering, and drama - there is something for everyone! Visit this link for registration information!

Are you signed up for "Kroger Community Rewards"? With a few simple steps, you can link your Kroger Shop Card to Deer Run and a small donation will be made to our school every time you shop. It does not cost you anything and it does not pull from your rewards.

Follow these steps to sign up -

1. Sign in to your digital Kroger account on the app or your computer.
2. In the drop down on the left hand side, Find "Rewards", then select "Community Rewards". On the website, click on "My Account" under your name, and then select "Community Rewards".
3. Search for "Deer Run Elementary School", select, and click "Save". Your selected organization will now display in the Kroger Community Rewards section of your account.
