Welcome back to a new school year at Eastland ISD! I want to extend a warm welcome to all of our returning students and families, as well as those who are joining us for the first time. We hope you had a relaxing and fun-packed summer break full of quality time with family and friends. All of us at Eastland ISD are excited to see the hallways of our campuses bustling with activity again.

I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the continued support Eastland ISD receives from the community. We pride ourselves on being a school where students thrive, not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well. Our success is directly tied to the collaborative efforts of our amazing teachers, staff, parents, students, and the community of Eastland as a whole, and we are grateful for the support we receive throughout the year.

This year promises to be full of opportunities. We will build on our successes and continue to create an environment where every student can reach their full potential. A key part of this will be a new program that begins this year: the Maverick Leadership Pathway. This is a program that will help spotlight the amazing things our students are already doing across all of our campuses—from participation in activities, to student leadership and service, to achievements and accolades—in the classroom and beyond. We will share more information about this exciting program soon, so keep an eye out on our website, social media, and in our communications.

Meet the Teacher, Schedule Pickup and the First Day of School!

With the start of school right around the corner, we have a number of fun events coming up to get everyone's school sprit going!

Meet the Teacher and Schedule Pickup!

Siebert Elementary, Eastland Middle School, and Eastland High School will be hosting their Meet the Teacher events on August 10th! Students and parents are welcome to walk our campuses, familiarize themselves with where their classes will be, and get to know their new teachers for the year! EHS students should also swing by to pick up their schedules!

Doors will open at Siebert Elementary from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. EMS will open their doors from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. EHS will open their doors from 6:30 to 7:30 PM.

Communication and cooperation between parents, students, and their teachers is a key part in what makes EISD so successful, and all of our staff are excited to meet you all before another great year!

School Starts August 12th!

Classes begin on the 12th of August! We're excited to see how all of our students perform and excel this year!

Below, we have some important policy reminders from Siebert and EMS Administration for parents regarding traffic around our campuses!

🔴 Doors open at 7:15 AM - If you arrive before 7:15 AM, remain in line with your student. At 7:15 AM, staff will be there to guide students to the cafeteria. Doors will not be opened prior to 7:15 AM.

🔴 Drop-offs and Walking Students to Class - Parents are allowed to walk their student to class starting at 7:30 for the 1st day only. After the first day, parents/guardians will drop off their students and we will have personnel to get them to where they need to be.

🔴 Lunches - We are asking that parents/guardians do not come to eat with their students until September 1st. This will allow us to get the students into a routine and learn procedures without distractions.

🔴 Pick-Up - Pre-K and Kindergarten students will not be allowed to go with the walking group for safety reasons. Parents/Guardians will need to pick their PreK and Kindergarten students up in the pick up line. Please stay in your car and go through the line to pick up your student. As a reminder, when picking up a student you should be aware of your surroundings. Using a cell phone while driving through a school zone is illegal.

🔴 Changes in Transportation - Any changes to transportation home will need to be notified to the office by 2:30 PM the day of via email, note or phone call. You will not be able to pull your student out of the bus line the day of without proper notification to the office.

Siebert Traffic Map and Reminders

Please take a look at this map and the following directions to ensure traffic flows smoothly for everyone!

🔔 Doors open at 7:15 AM! Staff will open the doors at 7:15 AM and guide students to the cafeteria. Entry will not be permitted before staff open the doors. If you arrive early, please remain in your vehicle with your child until the doors open. 🔔

🟡 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade parents: Please follow the yellow pick-up route on the West side of the building by traveling south on Madera St. and turning right on Hill St. 🟡

🔴 PreK, K, & 1st grade parents: Please follow the red pick-up route on the East side of the building starting from Sadosa. 🔴

‼️Students in 2nd-5th THAT HAVE A SIBLING in PreK, Kinder, or 1st grade will go with them to the East side of the building to be picked up‼️

🚶If a 1st-5th grade student is going to be a walker or walk to the old nursing home/tree, then parents need to send a signed note to the teacher stating that their student will be a walker. 🚶

🚷 Pre-K and Kindergarten students may not walk, even if they have siblings who walk. Pre-K and Kindergarten students must be picked up from the vehicle line. 🚷

🏷️ Please have your student pick-up name card visible for the staff calling names. Starting Monday, August 17th, if you forget your student pick-up tag or have misplaced it, parents will need to park in the front and go to the front office to get another tag. I.D. proof will need to be presented to get another student pick-up card for safety reasons. 🏷️

EMS Traffic Reminders

Hi Eastland Middle School parents!

As we get ready for the new school year, we want to remind everyone about our drop-off and pick-up procedures. Taking a few moments to review these with your child can help make the process smoother and safer for everyone.

Here's a quick overview of what to remember:

🔴Drop-off: Parents should use the designated drop-off lane. For safety, please have your child ready to exit the car on the passenger side as you pull up to the curb. This keeps them from having to cross traffic.

🔴Pick-up: Please arrive in the designated pick-up line. Have your child ready to get into your car quickly when you reach the curb.

Going over these simple steps with your child helps them know exactly what to do, which reduces confusion and keeps the flow of traffic moving efficiently.

EISD Cellphone Policy

Below is the EISD Student Cell Phone policy. Please take a moment to review the policy!

Student Cell Phone Policy EISD

To promote the best possible learning and social environment in the classrooms and schools of Eastland ISD, students will adhere to the guidelines listed below during the school day. The intent of the cell phone policy is to limit access and use of cell phones to avoid distractions from learning and the loss of instructional time. To keep the focus on academics, reduce unnecessary distractions and incidents of cyberbullying, the school enforces the following:

Cell phones and all mobile devices such as smart watches and ear buds shall be TURNED OFF when entering school campus from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm on instructional days except in extreme cases such as for pre-approved medical reasons.

Cell phones and all mobile devices such as smart watches and ear buds shall be TURNED OFF on morning and afternoon bus routes to and from school.
Cell phones and all mobile devices such as smart watches and ear buds shall be kept in a student’s backpack or locker – not in clothing pockets.
Cell phones and all mobile devices such as smart watches and ear buds are not allowed to be used in a classroom, library, common areas, or restrooms.
Cell phones and all mobile devices such as smart watches and ear buds can be turned back on at the end of school bell and used to communicate directly with parents/friends who are assisting in transportation.
Cell phones and all mobile devices such as smart watches and ear buds are not allowed to be used during transition times or between classes.
If a student needs to make an emergency call during the day, they are to come to the office.

Consequences for Violating Cell Phone Policy

If a student uses their phone during the school instructional day, it will result in the confiscation of the cell phone and adherence to the following graduated offenses stated below. Authorized district employees who will be responsible for cell phone confiscation will include: administrators and teachers.

1st Offense:

Student will be sent to campus office and the principal or assistant principal will take the device. Student will be assigned lunch detention. Student may retrieve the device on the Friday of that week after school is dismissed from the campus office.

2nd Offense:

Student will be sent to campus office and the principal or assistant principal will take the device. Student will be assigned one day of ISS. To retrieve the phone, parents must come to the office on the Friday of that week after school is dismissed.

3rd Offense:

Student will be sent to campus office and the principal or assistant principal will take the device. Student will be assigned three days of ISS. To retrieve the phone, parents must come to the office on the last day of the current 6 weeks grading period after school is dismissed.

4th Offense:

Student will be sent to campus office and the principal or assistant principal will take the device. Student will be placed in DAEP. To retrieve the phone, parents must come to the office on the last day of the current semester after school is dismissed.

Each Additional Offense

For any additional offense after the 4th offense the campus administrator will follow the same guidelines as the 4th offense.

Special Exceptions:

A student shall be authorized to use a personal communication device on school property during the school day only under the following circumstances:

The student’s use is necessary for implementation of the student’s individualized education program, a 504 plan, or a similar program or plan;
The student’s use is required due to a documented need based on a directive from a qualified physician; or
The student’s use is necessary to comply with a health or safety requirement imposed by law or as part of the District or campus safety protocols.

Meet the Mavs at Maverick Stadium on August 21st!

All of your Fall Sports Mavericks and Lady Mavs, as well as the Mighty Maverick Marching Band musicians and the Eastland High School Cheerleaders will be at the Maverick Stadium on August 21st for Meet the Mavs! This year, the event will be done tailgate style, with three food trucks as well as the Band Booster concession stand open for business! PTO will have a Make Your Own Cowbell booth and the Athletic Booster Club will be selling jerseys, hats, and tumblers! The Mavericks JV and Varsity Football teams will be playing a scrimmage against Abilene TCLA, so be sure to cheer on your Mavericks as they get ready for another great season!

The JV Mavericks will begin their scrimmage at 6:00 PM, followed by the Varsity Mavericks at 7:00 PM. Following the Varsity Scrimmage, Meet the Mavs will begin! Food trucks will serve from 6:00-9:00 PM.

Come out and meet the 2026 Mavericks and Lady Mavs!
