AVA Family Update
October 18, 2024
Good morning AVA Students and Families,
If you are expected to report in person for any PSAT or MCAS dates, I have notified you individually earlier today.
I also have one other important notice for Seniors. You should be receiving emails from AHS about important deadlines for graduation and tasks you must complete to get a diploma with the correct name, a cap and gown that fits, and other requirements. If you are not, please notify me. If you haven't seen the latest, I have it attached below for your convenience.
The schedule (note the time and period changes on Wednesday) and the guidance and community updates are listed below as usual.
Thank you for your time.

Guidance Updates
Need a job?
School-to-Career has updated its online student job board. Please reach out to Ms. Hoff the Career Specialist (lhoff@attleboroschools.com) if you would like help connecting to job opportunities and/or would like resume help.
Fall SAT exams
There are only 2 SAT administrations left until March 2025. Seniors and juniors who are interested in taking the exam this Fall should register as soon as possible. Each testing costs $68. Please email Ms Nellie if you'd like more information about getting an SAT fee waiver. Please also remember to check for seat availability before you register. The important deadline are pictured below.
MCAC Week
The AHS Guidance Dept. has made great progress in developing its Massachusetts College Application Celebration! Again, it is a week-long event from November 18-22 devoted to helping students complete college applications to any college. Five New England-based colleges will also be coming to do on-site admissions that week, and there will also be financial aid support available. This is a great opportunity for seniors to get help during the school day, and AVA seniors and families are strongly encouraged to come if interested. Please register HERE if interested.
As always, please feel free to email me (nng@attleboroschools.com) with any questions, comments, or concerns. Have a lovely unseasonably warm weekend!
