MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!
2023-2024 School Theme
Deep Roots
"Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving." Colossians 2:6-7
Principal's Corner
CHRIST’s mass. What a fun time of the year. Busy, yes; however it is truly a special time as everyone throughout the world focuses on the birth of Jesus, who is the CHRIST our Savior! Or do they? While everyone certainly looks forward to celebrating CHRISTmas, it appears that some don’t stop to ask what it is truly all about. I was recently in one of our local large home improvement stores over the Thanksgiving break and was very saddened to not find any nativity sets (large or small) in the CHRISTmas (or ‘holiday’) décor section. Curious, I asked one of the associates who told me that there must not be much demand for them if the buyers did not buy them for the stores.
I pray that you will share with your family and friends the true importance of the CHRISTmas season celebration. As we are clearly told in The Bible (John 3:16), ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal live!’ Have a blessed and joyful CHRISTmas.

MANY THANKS!
We are overwhelmed with gratitude as we reflect on the incredible success of the Red Hill Lutheran Gala that took place November 4, 2023. It is with great pleasure that we extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who attended and supported this year's event. Your presence and generosity made all the difference.
Together, we raised over $150,000, a remarkable achievement that will undoubtedly have a profound impact on our school and the families it serves. Your unwavering support truly exemplifies the strength of our community, and we are deeply appreciative.
The gala was a night to remember, filled with fantastic moments that brought us all closer together. From the awe-inspiring Lyon Air Museum planes that graced the event, to the lively and fun-filled cocktail hour that allowed us to connect with old friends and make new ones, every aspect of the evening was nothing short of spectacular.
We want to emphasize that this success is a collective achievement, reflecting the dedication and commitment of our Red Hill Lutheran family. It is because of you that we can continue to provide a nurturing and enriching environment for our students.
Once again, thank you for your invaluable support and for being part of a memorable evening. We look forward to the continued growth and success of our school, thanks to the generosity and spirit of our wonderful community.

RED HILL LUTHERAN CHURCH NEWS
Pastor's Corner
Dear Families of Red Hill Lutheran School,
On Sunday, December 3rd , our church and school begins the sacred season of Advent. The word Advent means “coming” or “arrival” and is a four-week season in the Christian Church year, leading up to Christmas, in which we prepare ourselves for the coming of Jesus into our world. The season of Advent is both historical and theological.
Historically, Advent guides us through the Biblical story of hope and expectation for the long-awaited Messiah; God’s chosen servant who will set the world (and your life) right. Through the Old Testament Prophets, God promised that the Messiah would one day, be born in Bethlehem and from the family line of King David. Christmas is the fulfillment of that divine promise! Theologically, Advent looks back at the birth of Jesus as the fulfillment of God’s promised Messiah and forward to the promised second coming of Jesus to consummate God’s promise of a healed world.
As we prepare our hearts and minds for Jesus’ “arrival” during the Advent season, we are also preparing for the awesome celebration of Christmas! If you do not have a church home, you are always welcome to worship with us at either 8:30 am (Classical) or 10:00 am (Contemporary).
During the Christmas season, our worship services will be…
Sunday, December 24th (Morning): one worship service at 10:00 am.
Sunday, December 24th Christmas Eve:
- 3:00 and 5:00 pm Live Nativity. A live recreation of this wondrous night featuring numerous animals including baby goats, ducks and a donkey! Our Praise Band leads us in singing classic Christmas carols as we experience that first Christmas night. Truly a memorable experience for kids—of all ages!
- 7:00 pm Traditional Candlelight Service. Choir, Hand bells, and beloved Christmas carols.
Monday, Christmas Day, December 25th:
- 10:00 am Featuring traditional carols and Holy Communion.
Beginning on Sunday, January 7th , 2024 we are changing our Sunday
morning worship schedule: 8:00 to 9:00 am Classical worship; 9:15 to
10:00 am Bible studies/groups for all ages; 10:15-11:15 am Contemporary
worship. This change is the result of our mission to be a community of worship and deep study of God’s Word! We hope that this new Sunday schedule will both facilitate Christian education classes for all ages, as well as encourage the presence of our children in the worship services so we can
deepen the love of worship for our kids! Nursery care (Infant through four years old) will be offered throughout the morning.
Additionally, as we begin the New Year, we will continue to offer you and your family opportunities to grow in your faith, strengthen your relationships, and deepen your hope in Jesus Christ. Below are just a few examples:
- If you or your child is interested in Baptism, we have regular Baptism instruction.
- For second graders and above, we offer First Communion classes coming up this winter spring.
There is much, more to come!
Visit our website, www.redhillchurch.org , for days and times of special classes, seminars, and group opportunities. You are always welcome at Red Hill!
Again, we are thankful you are here at Red Hill Lutheran Church and School! If we can serve you in any way, please do not hesitate to call upon us! May you have a blessed Advent and Christmas!
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Seth Britton

What is Advent? Why and How Should We Celebrate it?
The Season of Advent marks the beginning of a new church year. This year, Advent begins on Sunday, December 3rd, and leads us all the way up to Christmas Eve.
Advent is a very important season in the church year that highlights waiting and preparing for the birth of our Messiah and Redeemer, Jesus! While the world around us swirls with chaotic hustle and bustle, we invite you to create a family space of quiet worship each week. Our Youth and Family Ministry Team has gathered some helpful and easy to use physical and digital resources to help you do just that. We pray this Advent and Christmas season is a blessing to all of our families!

Our Nursery Ministry Team loves teaching tremendous truths about God and His love to our youngest little ones. Programming for babies and toddlers is offered during both Sunday morning worship services, at 8:30am and 10:00am, in Classroom 11. All children of our RHL families and visitors, six weeks of age through 3 years old, not potty trained, are invited to attend.
We offer Preschool Ministry on Sunday mornings, in Classroom 12, during the 10:00am worship service. Our Sunday Morning Preschool Ministry provides a welcoming, nurturing atmosphere for children three years of age and potty trained, through 5 years of age and not enrolled in Kindergarten. Using an engaging and inspiring environment and striving to give preschool aged children a foundation of faith that will last a lifetime, the children consistently hear three basic truths: God made them; God loves them; and Jesus wants to be their friend forever. Our Preschool Ministry Team is excited about their ministry and partnering with our RHL families.
Red Hill Lutheran Church offers a Sunday Morning K.I.D.S. Ministry Program for all children in Kindergarten through 5th Grade, during our 10:00am worship service. Check-In begins at 9:45am in the K.I.D.S. Zone.
Using a combination of large group and small group conversations and activities, we intentionally strive to create an engaging environment where children come to Know Jesus, Impact the world around them, become Disciples of Jesus, and Serve others - K.I.D.S.! All kids are invited to join us, regardless of church affiliation.

Middle School Ministry Teaching Series “Grateful” | 3 Weeks on Gratefulness
Our favorite Christmas memories might involve snowball fights, presents, or time with people we love. The end of the year is a great chance for us to reflect on everything that’s happened and everyone around us. When we really think about it, there’s so much we can be thankful for each and every year — even if things didn’t work exactly how we planned. God has given us so much, and the birth of Jesus is a great way to focus on all of the gifts we’ve received this year. Retelling these classic Christmas stories will teach us about gratitude and thankfulness during this three-week series. As students hear about the prophecies and stories of Jesus’ birth, they’ll be reminded to be thankful for each other, what God has done, and God’s promises, and to be thankful even when it’s not easy.
