The CDA Family Buzz
Week of Monday, August 28 - Friday, September 4, 2026
Dear CDA Families,
As we step into September, I want to remind everyone of the importance of staying connected with us as we surround our scholars with love, support, and a first-class education.
Our scholars successfully completed the first round of i-Ready assessments. Although the first day brought a few technical challenges, our scholars and faculty rose to the occasion and worked together to resolve them.
This Friday, our teachers will participate in professional development focused on using student data to guide instruction and close learning gaps based on iReady. Please remember that school will dismiss at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026.
I am also pleased to introduce our new social studies instructor, Mr. Thomas Loner. Mr. Loner brings a wealth of experience in education and will be a wonderful addition to CDA as he leads our Social Studies Department. Please join me in welcoming him to the CDA family!
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
One School. One Mission. Unlimited Potential.
Yours in education,
Dr. Johnson
Fast Bridge
Our kindergarten and first-grade scholars will continue completing their FastBridge assessments this week. Please ensure that your scholar arrives at school on time each day and is ready to do their best.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Grading Policy
South Carolina has passed a new law prohibiting “grading floors” in public schools. This means teachers are not required to give a minimum grade for missing or incomplete work.
Grades will reflect actual student performance and completed work. At CDA, we will continue partnering with families to support student accountability, growth, and success.
