Educational Parent Workshop: Little-Known Secrets of Paying for College

Dear South Brunswick High School Parents,

We are so excited to announce that South Brunswick has partnered up with The College Funding Coach®! We will be hosting their educational workshop, The Little-Known Secrets of Paying for College, on Wednesday, October 14th, at 6:30 PM via Zoom.

The College Funding Coach® was founded in 2002 to help families understand the complexities of paying for college and make higher education more affordable. Through this effort, they realized that most families want to help pay for their children’s education, but they often lack the liquidity and the cash flow to do so. The College Funding Coach® has established an approach that helps parents understand the college funding process, reduce out-of-pocket expenses, and simultaneously balance the challenge of saving for college and retirement.

Whether you are a parent of a high schooler and you are looking for help understanding the changes to the FAFSA process, or you are a parent of a younger student and want to learn the most efficient ways to save for college, this event is for you!

To Register for the workshop, please CLICK HERE or use the link in the attached flyer.

Student Opportunity!

The South Brunswick Commission on Women is seeking a high school student to serve as a member for a one-year term from January through December 2027. The Commission is an official Township organization dedicated to empowering women through leadership, knowledge, and service while raising awareness of issues affecting women in our community.

This is a great opportunity for a student interested in leadership, public service, and local government to gain firsthand experience and bring a youth perspective to the Commission. Members attend two meetings per month and may volunteer for additional Commission programs, events, and projects.

Volunteer hours will be awarded for all meetings attended and Commission-related work completed. Students who are responsible, engaged, and interested in serving their community are encouraged to apply.

Applications should be submitted by December 1 through the South Brunswick Township Boards & Commissions application: https://sobrunswick.forms.govos.com/f/boardapplication
For more information about the Commission and its work, please visit https://southbrunswicknj.gov/commission-on-women/.

We are proud to share that the South Brunswick High School Small Ensemble Strings has been selected to perform at the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) Workshop 2026, the association’s annual four-day professional development conference, taking place October 19–22 at the Atlantic City Convention Center.

The talented six-member ensemble will perform on Tuesday, October 20, at noon for an audience of school board members, district administrators, educators, and education leaders from throughout New Jersey.

All six student musicians are juniors at South Brunswick High School: Nishant Vasanth, Lasindu Gunasekara, Justin Zhang, Raghav Gnanasabapathy Kiruthika, Korok Das, and Aditya Aras.

The chamber ensemble is comprised of two violins, one viola, and three cellos, and performs under the direction of SBHS Orchestra Director Mark Lalumia.
