Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
You are receiving this week’s newsletter a day early as we have now wrapped up our students’ four-day week that was full of a lot of activities. This week is the end of the first quarter and is our homecoming week! Students participated in spirit week, played in a powder puff volleyball game, enjoyed a pep rally, will play in a powder puff football game tonight, will enjoy the homecoming parade, and the celebrations are not yet over! We have our homecoming football game tomorrow and the dances on Saturday! Whew!
As a reminder, there is NO SCHOOL for students tomorrow, Friday, October 10th and on Monday, October 13th. This small fall break will be helpful as we wrap up a busy week. Upon our students’ return to school on Tuesday, October 14th, we will be starting our second quarter of the 2025-2026 school year!
We look forward to continuing our celebrations with our students throughout Saturday and wish everyone a great weekend!
In service to our Bulldogs.

Hello Families,
I hope everyone gets a chance to enjoy the fall break this weekend. We’ve had a great week with the students during homecoming and spirit week. It’s nice to see the kids get involved with their peers during this time.
As it looks like the weather may be changing to more fall-like conditions, please remind your students to arrive on time and safely.
It’s also hard to believe that the end of the first quarter is over, and the second quarter begins when students return to school on Tuesday.
Thank you, and have a nice weekend.
Joe Moorehead, Dean of Students

The FAFSA Application opens October 1!!!!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2026-27 academic year is up and running! Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are eligible for student loans! We will continue to share information and helpful resources with you and your family as we receive it!
The Ohio Department of Higher Education would like to share that the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for all families to complete. Families who want to start filling out the FAFSA now can start the process at studentaid.gov.
