Don’t forget to SMILE BIG for Picture Day on Friday. Looking ahead, be sure to sign up for our upcoming Trunk or Treat event—there will be prizes for the top decorated trunks! Sign-up HERE information is also included below, and we’d love to see as many families participate as possible.

PTO and Title-1 Meetings Updates
Bus Safety
To ensure a positive and safe experience for all students, we are reminding everyone of our bus expectations:
- Respectful Behavior: Students should treat each other and the bus driver respectfully. This includes using appropriate language and refraining from bullying or harassment.
- Staying Seated: For the safety of all passengers, students must remain seated while the bus is in motion. Moving around can lead to accidents and distractions for the driver.
- Following Instructions: Students should listen to the bus driver and always adhere to their instructions. The driver is responsible for the safety of all students on board.
- No Food or Drink: To maintain cleanliness and safety, we ask that students refrain from eating or drinking on the bus.
Water Bottle
All students need a refillable water bottle for use during the school day. There are four bottle-filling stations, two located in the cafeteria and two in the hallway. There are no water fountains, only fill stations.
MTSS at KH
This is a process used for identifying students and then providing differentiated instruction and intervention to address their needs. Part of the process involves screening all students three times per year.

CVC Antibullying
Starting the first week of October
CVC offers grade-specific lessons that help students understand what bullying is, how to treat others with kindness, and what to do when they see or experience hurtful behavior. Each program is tailored to the age and developmental level of the students.
For Kindergarten–2nd Grade:
-
Emotional Awareness & Empathy: Kids learn to recognize and name their own feelings and notice how others may feel.
-
Being a Good Friend: Discussions and activities show what positive friendship looks like (sharing, including others, kind words).
-
Understanding Bullying: Students learn the difference between bullying and normal conflict, so they know when to ask for help.
-
Making Amends: Practicing how to apologize sincerely when mistakes are made.
-
Prevention Skills: Simple tools to stop bullying before it happens (speaking up, including others, asking for help).
For 3rd–5th Grade:
-
Seeking Help: Empowering students to go to an adult when needed.
-
Safe, Strong Communities: Identifying what makes a community safe, respectful, and welcoming.
-
Self-Regulation: Learning strategies to manage emotions and reactions.
-
Understanding Bias: Introducing age-appropriate lessons about discrimination and stereotypes.
-
Bystander Skills: Teaching students how to step in safely and support someone being bullied.
