Principal's Message
Hello Pacific Drive Families!
Tomorrow, Monday August 10th is the first day of school for the 2026/2027 school year! Gates open at 7:45 am for students in 1st - 6th grade at the center breezeway gate. The kindergarten gates open at 7:55 am.
Families are welcomed to walk their students to their classroom for the first day of school. Families, please do not enter classrooms, and be sure to say a quick goodbye and head to the nearest exit gate when the 8:15 am bell goes off. Breakfast will be available for students until 8:05 am.
As a friendly reminder, 5th and 6th grade students are dismissed at the end of the day out of the West gate that faces Pacific Drive Park. Also, kindergarteners are dismissed at 12:00 pm on the first day of school.
Please read the letter below about our new "Breakfast In The Classroom" program. This will begin the second week of school and provide all of our students with the opportunity to eat breakfast during the first 15 to 20 minutes of the school day in the classroom, instead of outside prior to the day beginning. Breakfast is still, of course, a voluntary option for our students, but it is important for us that all students have the opportunity to have a nutritious meal before the school day gets going. This opportunity is specific to school breakfast meals, so breakfast meals from home should be eaten at home, not in the classroom. The breakfast in the classroom program will begin on August 17th, so the first week of school will include breakfast served from the cafeteria prior to the start of the school day.
Thank you all and I look forward to seeing you soon!
