Good morning, Cannon families,
What a glorious time of year!
We had an AMAZING WEEK! From Candy Houses, the Parade of Lights, and Dads teaching their Float Engineering Design Process to our traditional Santa Breakfast! First, please help me give a Big SHOUT OUT AND THANK YOU to CANNON DADS CLUB! Each year, our floats blow me away, and our Cubs are amazed! The holiday season in Grapevine is magical, and the Cannon Dad's CLub float is always a HUGE Success; There were so many oohs and ahs from the crowd! Let me also extend a SHOUT OUT to our Choir, Mrs. Stewart, our Cannon Teachers, and Debbie Flowers for organizing and hosting our traditional Santa Breakfast! Any opportunity for our Cannon community to connect is wonderful and our Santa Breakfast Tradition is another example of why Cannon is the BEST ❤️!
We have 4 1/2 days until Winter Break - make sure to have your scholar at school each day before 7:40 and check the Save the Dates for important parent engagement events! Also, please discuss behavior expectations with your Cub. With the holidays approaching and so many fun, festive activities, we want to make sure our scholars are on their best behavior showing Cub PRIDE each and everyday!

We will be collecting new toys for Grace's Christmas Cottage Nov 27 - Dec 8th. Students and staff can drop off items in the front foyer.

We are still in need of a few items. If you want to contribute, please bring unwrapped items to the front office by Wednesday, December 13th.
Elementary Parent Referrals For Gifted & Talented Services
The referral window for elementary students' Gifted and Talented services is November 27 - December 15, 2023. (This referral window also applies to any current GT LEAD students interested in applying for the ASPIRE Academy). Parents need to complete the form in Skyward by Friday, December 15th. There are directions on how to complete the parent inventory and permission-to-test form on the GCISD Advanced Academics website: https://bit.ly/GCISDGTinfo, as well as presentation slides loaded with helpful information about the process. Campus GT specialists will administer any necessary testing from January 4 - 31, 2024. Parents will be notified through Skyward with results as soon as the district assessment process is completed.

*GET YOUR GLOW GEAR READY 🌟 - we will have a Middle of Year Glow Pep Rally for our Cubs Friday, January 5, 2024. We encourage all of our scholars to come ready to glow in the dark as we celebrate our first semester growth and prepare for second semester learning!

We want to show our teachers how much we appreciate them by giving them the gift of time. We are looking for parents and grandparents to cover lunch duty on Fridays. Our goal is to cover every Friday through the end of the school year so grab a few friends and pick a Friday.
