Panther Press 26-27 7th Edition
Blueprint for Champions
Message From The Principal
September 13, 2026
Greetings Panther Families,
As we move further into the school year, let’s continue to make attendance a priority. September is Attendance Awareness Month, and being present each day gives our students the opportunity to stay on track, participate in learning, and make steady progress toward their goals. Missing even one day can mean missing valuable instruction and important moments in the classroom. Make the commitment to be here, be engaged, and make the most of every school day!
Another important part of a successful school day is being on time. Students should plan ahead and arrive on campus with enough time to get to class before the bell rings. Our doors open at 7:00 am, and the tardy bell rings at 7:30 am. Tardy stations will be in full effect during all blocks. If you arrive to class after the bell, please stop by a grade-level office to obtain a tardy pass before reporting to class. Starting the day on time sets the tone for a productive day of learning.
As Panthers, we all have a role in creating a positive and focused campus. Please continue to follow our campus expectations by coming to school in dress code and ensuring that all personal electronic devices are turned off and secured in your Yondr pouch. These expectations help minimize distractions and allow our classrooms to remain focused on teaching and learning. Thank you for doing your part to make Duncanville High School a place where every student can learn, grow, and succeed.
We are also excited to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, beginning Tuesday, September 15th. This special observance provides us with a meaningful opportunity to recognize and honor the rich histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. Throughout the month, our campus will celebrate and highlight the many ways Hispanic and Latino communities have enriched our school, our nation, and our world.
Let’s continue to show up, stay focused, follow expectations, and make every day count!
Go Panthers! 🐾
Executive Principal
Panther Battalion Honors 9/11 Through Service and Remembrance
The Panther Battalion Army JROTC presented a 9/11 Memorial Color Guard Ceremony in remembrance of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, while also honoring and thanking our local Duncanville first responders for their service and sacrifice.
The ceremony was a meaningful opportunity for Panther Battalion cadets to honor a significant moment in American history and embrace the traditions of service, leadership, and patriotism. This event marked the Panther Battalion’s first partnership with the City of Duncanville Fire Department as part of a community ambassadorship initiative, demonstrating the cadets’ commitment to serving and strengthening their local community.
Through opportunities like this, cadets learn the value of community service, volunteerism, leadership, and giving back. Their involvement reflects the Panther Battalion’s commitment to developing tomorrow’s leaders with purpose, motivation, direction, and “True Grit.”
We proudly recognize the cadets who participated in this special ceremony:
Surrano Dubam • Charles Shyperd • Stephanie Marinez • Alisson Pereira • Angie Lopez
Dress Code Expectations & Reminders: Every Day, Every Student
We want to remind families that students are expected to be in dress code every day. Dress code expectations are in place to support a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment for all students.
Please keep the following reminders in mind:
- Hats, hoodies and head coverings are not permitted on campus.
- Open-toed shoes, slides and house shoes are not permitted on campus.
- Pajamas are not permitted on campus.
- Blankets and headphones are not permitted on campus.
- Dress code violations are considered a Level I Offense. Consequences will be determined by the campus Behavior Coordinator in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
Students who are not in compliance with the dress code may be subject to disciplinary consequences.
We ask that parents and guardians review the dress code expectations with their students and ensure they are dressed appropriately before leaving home each morning. Consistent compliance is expected and will be enforced.
Thank you for your partnership in helping us maintain a safe, respectful, and distraction-free learning environment for all of our scholars.
Keeping Our Panthers Safe: Student Arrival & Dismissal Safety Reminders
Parents and Guardians,
The safety of our students, families, and community remains a top priority at Duncanville High School. We are asking for your cooperation with the following important traffic safety expectations during student arrival and dismissal.
Please be mindful of the following:
- Do not park or stop in the right lane of eastbound Camp Wisdom Road adjacent to Duncanville High School to pick up or drop off students.
- Students should never be dropped off or picked up while a vehicle is stopped in an active lane of traffic.
- This creates a significant safety hazard for students, pedestrians, and motorists.
- Parents may park against the curb in the right lane of westbound Camp Wisdom Road, on the north side of the street.
The Duncanville ISD Police Department has already issued citations for these violations and will continue enforcement throughout the school year.
We understand that arrival and dismissal can be busy; however, we need everyone's cooperation to ensure students are entering and leaving campus safely. Please plan accordingly and use only appropriate areas when dropping off or picking up your student.
Thank you for your attention to this important safety matter and for partnering with us to maintain a safe environment for everyone arriving at and leaving Duncanville High School.
Duncanville ISD Police Department and Duncanville High School Administration
Yondr Pouch & Personal Electronic Device Reminder
As a reminder, if students bring personal electronic devices to school, they must bring their Yondr pouch with them each day and use it to secure their device for the duration of the school day. Students are expected to keep their pouch with them and properly secured throughout the day.
Parent pick-up time for confiscated personal electronic devices are 12:30pm – 2:00pm. There will be no device pick-ups after 2:00pm.
If a student has lost or damaged their Yondr pouch, a replacement pouch may be purchased for $40, CASH ONLY, through the Main Office.
Parents and guardians, please encourage your student to bring their Yondr pouch to school every day. Establishing this routine will help students avoid unnecessary disruptions and ensure they are prepared to follow the district's personal communication device expectations.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to keep our classrooms focused, minimize distractions, and provide the best learning environment possible for all of our students.

DHS Is Going Phone-Free With Yondr
The Duncanville ISD Board of Trustees approved the implementation of Yondr pouches beginning in the 2026–27 school year. Yondr pouches will be used at Duncanville High School, PACE, and all Duncanville ISD middle schools to help create a more focused learning environment. To learn more about this update and the implementation process, visit: https://dville.it/HB1481Yondr.
Student Parking Permits Now Available – Parking Enforcement Is In Effect
Students who drive to Duncanville High School must be properly licensed, carry required liability insurance, and have a valid Duncanville ISD parking decal for their vehicle. Parking decals are non-transferable and may only be displayed on the vehicle to which they are registered.
Please remember:
- Parking decals must be permanently affixed to the inside top-left corner of the vehicle’s front windshield using the decal’s own adhesive.
- Students must park only in their designated student parking areas and assigned spaces.
- Visitor parking spaces are for visitors only. Students may not use visitor spaces.
- Students may not use another student’s decal, hanger, or parking space.
- Improperly displayed decals or parking violations may result in disciplinary action, decal revocation, and/or the vehicle being towed.
- Students must leave the parking lot and enter the building upon arriving at school. Students found in the parking lot during the school day without authorization may face disciplinary action.
- Parking decals are $20 per vehicle. Additional vehicles in the same household are $5 each.
To obtain a parking decal, students must complete the required application and provide a valid Texas driver’s license and current proof of liability insurance. Students are responsible for keeping their license and insurance current throughout the school year.
The Duncanville ISD Police Department will continue to enforce campus parking and traffic regulations to help maintain a safe and orderly environment for all students and staff.

We welcome you to come and eat lunch with your scholar.
