3rd Six Weeks

Dear Intermediate School Families,

We have officially entered the 3rd six weeks of the school year, and we are so proud of the growth and effort our students have shown so far! As we move into this new grading period, our focus remains on academic progress, consistent attendance, and positive behavior.

This is a wonderful time to reflect on your child’s goals and celebrate their successes. Encourage them to stay focused and finish this semester strong!

📚 Academics and Learning Focus

Teachers are continuing to provide engaging lessons that challenge students to think critically and problem-solve. You can support learning at home by:

  • Reviewing homework and reading together each evening.

  • Checking grades and assignments in the Parent Portal.

  • Encouraging your child to ask questions and seek help when needed.

  • Setting up conferences with your child's teachers.

🕗New Schedule

We are making some changes to our master schedule next week. New lunch times and teacher conference times are as follows:

3rd Grade Lunch - 11:15-11:45am; Teacher conference time - 1:45-2:35pm

4th Grade Lunch - 12:05-12:35pm; Teacher conference time - 9:45-10:35am

Every day in class counts! Please help us by ensuring your child arrives on time and ready to learn each morning. Consistent attendance helps build good habits and keeps students from falling behind. We have several incentives happening on campus.

  • Students who have perfect attendance for the month of November will have the opportunity to decorate cookies when we return from Thanksgiving Break (Dec. 1st).
  • The classes (one class per grade level) with the most days of perfect attendance for the 3rd six weeks will receive popcorn and a drink.
  • Students with perfect attendance for the entire 1st semester will be eligible to attend a field trip.

Ask your students about how we can win the attendance belt!

Tutorials will begin when we return from Thanksgiving break. Please be on the lookout for tutorial information from your child's teacher.

Reminders

  • Backpacks - Backpacks are checked each morning. We ask that you ensure your child is only bringing necessary school supplies in their backpacks. We also ask that extra items hanging from backpack zippers be removed (except hand sanitizers). Please check your child's backpack daily for notes and homework.
  • Snacks - We don't mind students bringing snacks, but please only send personal snack size items (no larger than 2 oz) that can be eaten during lunch.
  • Water Bottles - Please only send water in refillable water bottles.
  • Birthdays - We don't mind recognizing your child's birthday at school, but please only send store bought cupcakes that can be distributed at the end of the school day. No pizzas, please.
  • Walkers - We understand students may have to walk to a particular location after school. With that in mind, please help stress the importance of safety when walking. Students who do not practice safety while walking may be required to be picked up at school.
  • Pick-Up - Please pick up students in the areas designated by the pickup map. Students should not be picked up through the teacher parking lot.
