Message From Admin
Peace and blessings to you all!
In this Sunday’s Gospel, we heard the powerful words from the Gospel of Matthew: “This is my Son, the Beloved; with him I am well pleased; listen to him!” -Matthew 17:5b
As we continue our Lenten journey, this message invites each of our students to pause and truly listen to Jesus. In a world filled with noise, distractions, and competing voices, Lent calls us back to what matters most. Listening to Christ means choosing kindness, integrity, courage, and compassion. It challenges us to reflect on how our daily actions reflect our faith. When we listen to Jesus, we begin to see others as He does. We become more patient teammates, more respectful classmates, and more thoughtful friends. Lent is not simply about giving something up; it is about becoming more fully who God is calling us to be.
Thank you to everyone who attended Thursday’s Saints Hockey Program meeting. We are grateful for the strong turnout, the enthusiasm, and the support shown for this exciting opportunity for our students. More detailed information can be found later in this newsletter.
Please remember there will be no school on Friday as staff participate in our Division Health and Wellness PD Day.
May this Lenten season be a time when we intentionally “listen to Him” and allow His voice to guide our hearts.
With gratitude,
The STMY Administration Team

Winter is Here!
In the past couple of weeks, we have noticed that many of our students have not been dressed properly for the frigid and snowy conditions that are upon us. As winter weather sets in, we ask all students to dress appropriately for cold, snowy, and icy conditions. Warm coats, hats, gloves, and proper footwear are essential to ensure safety and comfort while traveling to and from school and during outdoor activities. While we appreciate our students' expression of style, Birkenstocks are best saved for warmer weather! They pair better with sunshine than snowbanks! Students will not be allowed to participate in fieldtrips, sports activities, etc., unless they are properly dressed! Thank you for your support in helping our students stay safe, warm, and ready to learn this winter.

Indigenous Games with Krista Leddy
On Tuesday, St. Mary’s Physical Education classes had the opportunity to learn and participate in traditional Métis games. Through these activities, students developed a deeper understanding of teamwork, cooperation, and the importance of adapting rules to ensure games are equitable and inclusive for all participants.
We extend our sincere thanks to our special guest, Krista Leddy, for sharing her knowledge and leading these engaging and meaningful Métis games.
