WE MADE IT! This is our last week of the 2024-2025 school year! Thank you to all of our Dealey families, students ,teachers and staff for a great school year! When we began this school year, we had a strong plan and vision for our campus. With lots of perseverance, we were Breathing Fires of Excellence into every area of our community. Congratulations to the Class of 2025!! Thank you to the middle school committee for going above and beyond for our dragons! Amazing Job!

A Special Thank You to our Dealey PTA, Dealey SBDM, Dealey Dads Club, Dealey Soccer Club & Champions for partnering with us this school year. Finally, I want to say thank you to everyone in this community for contributing your talents, time and gifts to Dealey. The MS committee would like to thank Principal Garrett for allowing us to have an end of year social for the entire 6-8 MS 5/22 at 2pm. This is entirely free and will feature music, snacks and complimentary Texas Ice Cream Truck cold treats! Students may bring picnic blankets, or games to play on the playground. If any parents would like to assist we have a sign up genius to do so, and a qr code for students to request songs

Dear Dealey Families,

Every May we begin the process of assigning students to an appropriate class for next year. The Dealey staff spends much time and effort on this placement process. In putting together class lists for next year, we will consider many factors including research-based grouping strategies. We utilize the classroom teacher’s knowledge of every student, and in addition, our academic support teachers (504, ESOL, SPED), specialists, counselors and administrators provide input and review the proposed class lists.

UPDATED-Concerning existing students (2024-2025) in current grades PK, 1, 2,4

As of 5/5/25 ,we have already completed rosters for our 25-26 Placement Committees.

We will only consider extenuating circumstances for medically documented purposes and law enforcement documented situations.

At this time, we will not conduct individual conferences or meetings with the staff, administration or counselors regarding moving students that are already placed in a Primary, Lower. Or Upper Elementary School classroom.

Best Fit Emails to Teacher Only (Current Students moving to new hall)

We will always consider the best fit & your child's personality traits. These details must be emailed directly to your student's teacher by April 30, 2025 for existing students.

Given the complexity of placing all students, we will NOT consider the following requests:

· Requests for a specific teacher.

· Requests that specific students be placed with your child.

· Requests NOT to have a specific teacher, unless you have had another child with that teacher in the past.

Summer Notification

Your child’s classroom teacher will be sent out to you by July 31st.

Please understand that once homeroom teachers are assigned and students are placed, the lists are final. Moving even one child from a class can upset the balance of a classroom or interfere with scheduling. Students approach the new school year in a positive light when we encourage them to be excited about making new friends and getting to know a new teacher.

We will not conduct individual conferences or meetings with the administration or counselors regarding placement committee decisions.

Dallas ISD Level I Appeal

If you need to file a placement complaint, you will be required to go through the formal Dallas ISD Appeal process. You will have only 10 business days after receipt of placement to file your formal appeal to the campus principal.

Again, each Dealey student will be hand placed with great care. Each student’s emotional well-being and academic success is our priority!

Students must obtain prior approval before using personal telecommunications or other personal electronic devices for instructional use. When students are not using the devices for approved instructional purposes, all devices must be turned off during the instructional day. Violations of the user agreement may result in withdrawal of privileges and other disciplinary action.
