Connecting Play, Purpose & Possibility
Some field trips leave a lasting impact not only on the students but also on the educators who witness their growth. That's exactly what happened when Chaparral High School’s Significant Support Needs (SSN) class dropped by Bricks & Minifigs in Castle Rock. It turned into a memorable day packed with creativity and joy! This trip was designed for the Chap students and it proved that playing sometimes creates the best learning environment! Surrounded by huge bins of LEGO bricks, an enthusiastic staff and welcoming atmosphere, the store was the perfect spot to boost skills, teamwork and confidence. Read more about this amazing field trip.

Be Ready for Weather Delays & Closures in DCSD
Douglas County School District takes the safety of our students, staff, parents and community members seriously. Our district is huge - spanning approximately 850 square miles - and conditions can vary from one region to another.
Because many of our families and staff travel across the school district, any weather delay or closure will apply to the entire school district (unless otherwise indicated). Read more about how weather delays and closures are determined in DCSD.
*Remember- on the delayed bell schedule, the starting time for zero period is 8:25 a.m. and 9:15 for the starting periods of the day.
