Don't Ghost Your Mental Health
3rd Annual Mental Health Awareness Week - October 27th - October 31st
We are excited for our third annual Mental Health Awareness Week. This week our school will be encouraging our students to not ghost their mental health. We will be talking about mental health awareness since the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), says 1 in 6 youth aged 6-17 experience a mental health condition each year. Stigma associated with mental health conditions means that many youth do not ask for help or get the help they need. One way we can work to stop the stigma is to start talking about mental health.
Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood through adulthood.
We will have themes each day that will include a question students can answer to be entered into a prize drawing. Winners will receive tickets for Activity Afternoon on Friday.
Monday: Don't Ghost Your Feelings; Talk about Them
Tuesday: Rest isn't Scary
Wednesday: Treat Your Mind with Kindness
Thursday: Carve Out Time for Yourself
Unity Day
