Principal's Message From Dr. Otway
Dear CPE Families,
February is here, and love for literacy, learning, leadership, and connection is in the air at College Park Elementary. This is an exciting time in our school as students continue to show up ready to learn, lead, and represent the excellence instilled through our lessons, role models, and our celebration of Black history.
As the weather remains cold, we ask families to be proactive and ensure students come to school with coats each day. Coats are essential in the event of an emergency that may require students to go outside. While students do not go outdoors for recess during below-freezing temperatures, they do go outside when temperatures are in the 40s. They also will be required to exit the building in the event of an emergency.
We currently have three coat racks filled with coats at school. If your child is missing one, please stop by or message your child’s teacher so they can check the racks.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our students safe, prepared, and ready to lead.
Warmly,
Dr. Maisha N. Otway
Principal, College Park Elementary School

STEM Fair Projects
A major highlight of our EXPO day was the STEM Fair, where students confidently presented their projects and explained the science behind them. Projects included crowd favorites such as volcano eruptions, elephant toothpaste, lava lamps, race car experiments, and apple experiments. Students demonstrated impressive knowledge, creativity, and communication skills as they shared their work.
Our student leaders did an amazing job, helping guide the event, supporting presenters, and representing our STEM program with pride and professionalism. STEM Expo Day was a huge success and a true celebration of our students’ hard work, enthusiasm, and passion for learning.
