REMINDER: EXTRACURRICULAR ATTENDANCE POLICY - PRACTICE & COMPETITION

Students must be in attendance for the entire school day in order to practice or compete in an event.

Special circumstances may merit exception with prior approval from the Principal/Dean of Students, or designee. Parents MUST notify the office 24 hours IN ADVANCE of any appointments for that day to still be eligible.

If an absence is deemed unexcused it will result in ineligibility for participation in extracurricular activities until the next full day of attendance.

Sports Physical Reminder

Sports physicals are required before a student can begin practice. Sports physicals are good for two school years. Any physical that is dated before March 31, 2024, will not be valid for the 2025-2026 school year.

A reminder to parents that if you need a sports physical for your child this upcoming season, please try and have your WIAA paperwork done this month so the onsite clinicians can complete them before the summer break. The provider is typically here on Tuesdays and Fridays. There is not a provider available at school over the summer. If you would like to have the physical completed at school, plan ahead. Urgent medical needs must be cared for prior to physicals being completed. If you prefer to utilize your child's primary care provider, I encourage you to make an appointment well in advance. Lastly, as a reminder, the clinic in Walgreens has closed.

Attendance Matters, and so DO YOU!

"Every day you walk into school, you're stepping closer to your dreams. School isn't just about books—it's about discovering who you are, building your future, and unlocking your potential. Every lesson, every challenge, every success adds to the story of who you're becoming. Show up, stay curious, and believe in the power of what you're learning. Your future self will thank you for showing up today."

School Board Cell Phone Policy

Cell Phone Reminders:

  • You should NOT have your phones on you, on your desk or on your desk during class. You have 2 options: in your locker powered off, or in the wall pouches in the classroom; that's it.
  • "Bell to Bell" means "Bell to Bell". Cellphones should not be picked up until you are leaving the classroom at the end of class.
  • These expectations are NOT negotiable and are backed by the school board. Let's make sure we are following these expectations to avoid consequences that will follow, including but not limited to verbal warning, confiscation and detention/suspension.

  • Items with inappropriate exposure due to hems, waistlines, necklines, holes, or tears.
  • Midriffs, hips, cleavage, buttocks, upper thighs, and undergarments must remain covered at all times, even during movement.
  • Specifically, strapless shirts/dresses, short skirts/shorts, transparent clothing, and cut-off t-shirts with exposed sides are not allowed.
  • Clothing promoting alcohol, drugs, weapons, offensive language, or gang symbols is prohibited, as are items with obscene or sexually suggestive content.
  • Hats, hoods, sunglasses, non-jewelry chains, and certain accessories like backpacks, purses, or blankets are also restricted without permission.
  • Jackets, coats, and outdoor gear are not allowed in class. Please review these guidelines in advance—violations will require a change of attire.

Just Something To Think About...

As the year comes to a close, we will remember the relationships we had with those in our classes, on our sports teams and in our clubs and activities. Relationships can be positive, encouraging and supportive. They can also be negative, mocking and they can make us feel bad. But, please always remember...those opinions, and those LIMITED PERCEPTIONS do not make you who you are. Just because someone thinks it... does not make it true. Go forward, with your head high and KNOW YOUR WORTH. Your perception of YOURSELF is the ONLY one that matters. :)
