Irving Families -
This Wednesday, October 8, is our annual Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day! We hope all students will make an effort to walk, bike, or roll to school. This national event promotes healthy habits, builds community, and encourages safe, environmentally friendly ways of getting to school.
Our wonderful PTO will be there providing snacks, Mr. Rickert will be playing music, and we’ll be joined by visitors from the Berwyn Fire Department, Berwyn Police Department, and city hall to help us celebrate.
Last year, a family organized a “bike bus,” and we’re excited to share that a new Irving family will lead one this year. A bike bus is an organized group ride for children and adults along a planned route, giving families the chance to travel together in a safe, controlled environment. The route will be determined by the addresses of interested participants. For safety, every child must be accompanied by an adult. If you would like to join, please contact Alie Caldwell at alie.caldwell@gmail.com. Alie will share the route and estimated pick-up times in advance, and the group plans to arrive at Irving Elementary at 8:20 AM.
