A Message From Mrs. Lucas, BHS Principal
Happy Friday, Bobcats Families!
Today’s message includes a few quick reminders, an update for our Marching Band students, and a look ahead at upcoming events.
Accessing and Reviewing ParentVUE
ParentVUE is our go-to portal for checking grades, attendance, and school updates. We encourage you to take a look regularly so you can celebrate progress and stay on top of anything that may need attention. If you have questions or concerns about your child’s current academic progress, please reach out to the teacher(s) so we can partner with you to support your student.
Khan Academy
We invite students to use Khan Academy to build confidence and sharpen skills in reading, writing, and math. This free resource is available to all PWCS students and is a great way to get in a little extra practice at home.
Marching Band
Beginning July 1, 2026, physical requirements for marching band students will align with the processes and procedures for athletics and other activities. Students must participate in the registration process with their parent/guardian to complete education and other required acknowledgments and forms. Parents or guardians must complete the online athletic and activities registration at least one (1) week before the first day of marching band camp to allow time for eligibility review and medical clearance. More information about this process will be available starting on or before May 1 by visiting the PWCS Student Activities Website.
Upcoming Events
Be sure to check out our upcoming events—especially Performing Arts showcases and Awards Ceremonies.
Wishing you a wonderful, restful weekend!
Sincerely,
Principal Lucas

Tutoring Opportunities
Varsity Tutoring
PWCS students have access to free online tutoring 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Students can access Varsity by logging in to PWCS Portal. To log in to PWCS Portal, students use their PWCS username and password. See this website for more information.
SAT Prep Classes
Khan Academy Free Access via the PWCS Portal for Students
All students in grades 9–12 now have access to Khan Academy through the PWCS Portal, powered by ClassLink. This learning platform offers personalized tools, instructional videos, and practice assessments designed to support academic success—especially in preparation for the PSAT and SAT.
Getting Started Is Easy:
Log in using your PWCS username and password (do not include “@pwcs-edu.org”).
Click the Khan Academy icon to launch the app and begin exploring resources.
Khan Academy is highly recommended for students preparing for standardized tests. Its content is aligned with College Board standards offering targeted practice to help students build confidence and improve performance. The most commonly used SAT preparation courses include:
SAT: Math
SAT: Reading and Writing
These courses are selected because they reflect the core sections of the SAT exam. Khan Academy’s SAT Math course covers algebra, problem-solving, data analysis, and advanced math topics. The Reading and Writing course focuses on grammar, vocabulary in context, and evidence-based reading comprehension, all essential skills for the SAT.
To access the SAT Prep courses, click on the “Courses” menu located at the top of the screen. Scroll down and select “Test Prep” from the list of available subjects. Under the Test Prep section, this where you’ll find the two main course options: “SAT Math” and “SAT Reading and Writing.” These courses are designed in partnership with the College Board and provide targeted practice aligned with the actual SAT exam format.
PWCS encourages all high school students to take advantage of this district provided resource to support their learning and college readiness.
