Week of October 19, 2026
Hello Nashoba Community,
I hope you had a great weekend.
We had a very successful Homecoming Dance on Saturday evening. Our students were wonderful and had a great time!
Many thanks to Jen d'Entremont, Marcia Winter, Melissia Clericuzio, Melissa Snediker, Laurie McDonald, Jamie Tucker, Emily Frisch and the Admin Team for all the work they put in to make the evening a success!
We also were privileged to host NRHS 2008 graduate Monet Izabeth who spoke about her adventure and achievement making a solo transverse to the South Pole - the first US woman to do so. She shared her journey with our seniors highlighting both challenges and triumphs with the ultimate messages of perseverance and believing you can you anything you put your mind to.
Thoughts on Student Engagement:
Student engagement extends beyond the classroom. Families play an important role by encouraging curiosity, celebrating effort, and showing interest in what students are learning each day. A simple conversation at home - asking what students learned, what challenged them, or what they enjoyed can reinforce the value of learning and strengthen the connection between home and school.
We encourage students to stay involved, ask questions, seek support when needed, and take advantage of the many academic, athletic, artistic, and extracurricular opportunities available at Nashoba. Every opportunity to participate helps strengthen both learning and our school community.
End of Quarter 1
As the end of Quarter 1 approaches on October 30, we encourage students and families to check in on academic progress and stay current with assignments. Students who have questions, need support, or have work to complete should connect with their teachers now and make a plan for finishing the quarter strong. Please check teachers’ websites and Google Classroom for extra help availability, and encourage your student to take advantage of these opportunities. Reaching out early can help students feel more confident and prepared as the quarter comes to a close.
We are excited to host our first AI family University Night on 10/19/26 at 7:0pm at Florence Sawyer School. All are welcome!
Have a wonderful week!
Dr. Kate Boynton,
Principal

Portrait of a Nashoba Graduate - Communications Competency
This October, Nashoba Regional High School is spotlighting Communication, one of the competencies in our Portrait of a Nashoba Graduate. Throughout the month, students and staff are encouraged to notice and celebrate examples of effective communication in classrooms, extracurricular activities, and everyday conversations. Students develop this competency by expressing ideas clearly, listening thoughtfully, and adapting their message to different audiences and purposes. We invite families to join this effort by asking students to share examples they have noticed, encouraging them to explain their thinking, and discussing how word choice, tone, and empathy shape a message. Together, we can help students strengthen skills they will use in school and beyond.
