ACCESS Testing Rally
Some of our students (approximately 70) have been working hard this week taking the ACCESS Test which tests students' English proficiency in the areas of reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Identified students in Massachusetts are required to participate in ACCESS testing which is similar to MCAS testing but tests students' English proficiency.
Before testing began on Tuesday, the English Language Education department along with Principal Crowley, Dr. Quealy (ELE Director K-12), Ms. Fernandes (ELE Coordinator) held a rally on Monday in the Learning Commons to encourage our students to try their best on their ACCESS assessment. Students learned about the testing schedule along with testing strategies. Teachers and administrators encouraged them to "ROCK THE TEST!" Students signed a test pledge to try their best, completed some fun activities, and took pictures at the photo booth. Some of our general education teachers joined the rally to support students and encourage them before testing.
Thank you to our ELE department (Ms. Nutting, Ms. Silva, Ms. Zhurnevich, Ms. Nagime, Ms. Pratt, Ms. Gomes) for supporting our students and proctoring testing this week! Special thank you to Ms. Silva for organizing and planning the ACCESS rally!
Students of the Month
As part of our school's PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports) program, five students on each team are recognized as Students of the Month for demonstrating traits of readiness, responsibility, and respect. Each winner receives a certificate and a golden ticket (worth 5 tickets) which they can redeem for a prize on Ticket Tuesdays.
Congratulations to all of our December Students of the Month!
