A Weekly Update from Perkiomen Valley Middle School East

Principal'sReportA Weekly Update from Perkiomen Valley MiddleSchool East

A Word From Dr. Clune

Dear PV East Parents and Guardians,

Our students watched a short preview of our Spring Musical at the start of the school day. This was followed by an Outstanding Friday night performance. Our student performers were absolutely incredible. They are so talented! Tickets are on sale for the East Spring Musical production on 'Moana, Jr.'. There are performances Tonight (3/2) & Sunday (3/3). This will be a fun experience for the whole family. Seats fill up fast so purchase your tickets early. We are anticipating another amazing show!

Next week is Read Across America. We will be highlighting the LOVE of reading throughout the week. This is a great week to check out a new book from the library. Please ask your child what they are currently reading and also share about the books that inspired you in middle school.

We have finished our conversations on the topic of 'Bullies & Bystanders' with all grade levels. These were very thoughtful class discussions. I encourage you to ask your student about these class discussions.

Sincerely,

Seamus Clune, Ph.D.

SAFE2SAY

We reviewed our Safe 2 Say program last week. Our students viewed the video below during their Advisory period.

Our students can submit an anonymous tip through the Safe2Say Program. Tips are typically related to a variety of challenges our students experience or witness, such as bullying, harassment, disrespectful language, safety concerns, etc. When a tip is received, the State (who runs Safe2Say) immediately follows up with building administrators.

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline

Did you know that the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is now known as the 988 Suicide & Crisit Lifeline?

When people call, text, or chat 988, they will be connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing Lifeline network. These trained counselors will listen, understand how their problems are affecting them, provide support, and connect them to resources if necessary.
