End of Year Fourth Grade News

It has been a fantastic school year. We have loved teaching your children and working with you! Thank you so much for your continued support and collaboration. Please read on to learn about some options to help your kids succeed this summer.

5/20 Talent Show @1:30

5/21- Last Day of School (Dismissal @ 11:45)

• Students will be creating a Writing Portfolio from all their work this year. Look for that in their backpack this week.
• We will also be doing a checkers tournament! If you have a set we could borrow that would be awesome! Please label it.
• Phonics
• We have finished our Phonics lessons for the year. I will put together a packet this weekend of activities to do at home over the summer!
• Summer Reading:

• We are so incredibly proud of these fourth graders! They made huge growth this year and I couldn't be happier with them!
• Please encourage your child to practice math facts and previously learned skills this summer. They may still use ixl over the summer!

During your student’s 5th grade year, they will participate in the iReady diagnostic in Fall, Winter, and Spring. The scores from those tests will inform a student’s 6th grade math placement (Math 6 or Accelerated Math 6).

While we know it may seem early to be sharing this information, we felt it important to be clear on the expectations prior to a student entering 5th grade.

Most of the students have finished their projects and presented. They were posted to Seesaw! The last few will finish Monday.

For Home: Talk with your child about their chosen project and what they have learned about it this year and during their review research!
