Principal's Message Principal's Message

it is so great to be back in school and getting back into our routines! Our students have been doing such an amazing job getting to their correct entry doors, neatly putting away their things, and getting into their classrooms for the new 8:25 a.m. start time! It has just been great! Parents, please know that our custodian unlocks our front and courtyard doors for us at 8:20 a.m. every morning (this is the same as last school year). Like I said previously we've been doing a good job with that as our entry time. As with everything though, should we need to shift and make an adjustment we most certainly will. If we are noticing that as the snow flies and ski pants, boots and all the things re-enter our lives that we are requiring some extra time, we can easily open our doors a bit earlier to help our students out. We'll let you know, here in the Gazette, of any changes if/when they are made. A huge shout out to all our parents and teachers for helping to get this school year off to a fantastic start!

Are you wanting to dust off and practice your French language conversation skills? The Fort Saskatchewan Public Library is restarting their weekly adult conversation circle. The sessions are every Thursday evening beginning on Thursday, Sept. 18. Participants can attend as few or as many sessions as they'd like. For more information check out their website at https://fspl-ca.libcal.com/event/3917263

Movie Night 2024 : This year's film is "Lilo & Stitch"! We're so excited! Our movie night is on Friday, Sept. 19. The movie will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. We no longer need to wait for darkness as we have a daylight screen this year, so make sure to get here by 6:00 p.m.! At this point we have "The Donut King", "Dawggoneit" hotdogs and "Bhagvan's Dairy Cream" ice cream truck as a confirmed to attend the event. If you remember from years past, these trucks can get extremely busy. Along with your camping chairs, blankets and all the good things, you may want to pack some snacks and drinks for back up if needed. Help needed, please! We won't have enough staff at the event to provide supervision of students who are wanting to play soccer, play in the park, on the swings, etc. It will help us out immensely if all us adults could help out with this important supervision. Thank you in advance!

Have a great week everyone!

Division Code of Conduct

EIPS has three administrative procedures (APs) that address the Division’s code of conduct:

· AP 311: Welcoming, Caring, Respectful and Safe Learning Environments for Students

· AP 350: Student Code of Conduct

· AP 351: Student Conduct on School Buses

The Division, and École Parc Élémentaire, are committed to ensuring all members of the school community are provided with welcoming, caring, respectful and safe learning environments that respect diversity and foster a sense of belonging. EIPS encourages all students, staff and families to review the procedures to understand and practice the conduct expected throughout the Division.

Video surveillance at schools and on buses

Did you know each EIPS bus is equipped with video surveillance, and many school sites have video monitoring equipment?

Video surveillance and equipment help:

· ensure the safety of all students, staff, drivers and property; and

· discourage destructive acts.

As needed, EIPS school administration and Student Transportation staff review video recordings, in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act. The recordings assist schools and the Division with monitoring student and driver conduct and may be used as evidence in a disciplinary matter.

For more information about the collection, use and disclosure of personal information, contact the EIPS FOIP Co-ordinator at 780-464-3477.
