Parent Newsletter
March 2024
We hope you enjoyed your parent teacher conferences. It is hard to believe we only have a few more months left of school. However, we still have more learning and growing to do. Please make sure your students are adjusting to our new time change and are here at school on time.
We need your help. Traffic at drop off and dismissal can get crowded and hectic. Please drive safely, slowly and respectfully. We have a lot of students and we want our students and families to stay safe. If there are any immediate dangers or accidents, please call APD. You may also call the office to inform the school if necessary.
It is still very cold and rainy. Please remind your students to bring their warm jackets and check the lost and found for any missing items. It suggested to write your name on the inside of your jackets if possible. Lost and found items will be donated over Spring Break.
Also with cold weather and spring right around the corner comes illness. If your students are sick, please keep them home if contagious. Students must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. And please make sure to call the office or email AlejandraPerez@antiochschools.net to report all absences. Please see the Absence reminders below. Also, if you child needs medication during school the office needs the medication form stamped by your doctor. Students are not allowed to carry any medication with them to school.
Check out our Students of the Month! And keep scrolling for many more flyers with events and information! We have a book fair, PTA events, Spring Break and more coming soon!
If you have not signed up to be a PTA member, please join! All members have a vote and can contribute as much or as little as your schedule allows.
Important notes for parents
Please communicate with your teachers for any missing work, meetings, etc.
When parking, please be respectful of our neighbors, do not park in their driveways.
Pleas DO NOT bring treats for birthdays/ celebrations. Goody bags with pencils and non-consumable items are allowed only.
No parents allowed on campus, unless approved by the teacher and principal. Parent event nights will be sent out.
- REMIND YOUR STUDENTS TO CHECK THE LOST AND FOUND
CAASP Testing for 3rd-5th
CAASP testing will begin when we return from Spring Break. If you are interested in helping your child prepare please visit their Parent Resources page on the CAASP website:
https://www.caaspp.org/ta-resources/parent-resources.html
Testing will be done in their classrooms and teachers will let you know when your child will be testing as testing schedules vary. The most important tips for students is to get good sleep, a healthy filling breakfast, and a positive attitude. We want students to take their time, use their strategies and try their best.
