Center Consolidated School District Families:

Starting September 8th the District is initiating an automated system that will send email, texts, and Infinite Campus Inbox messages regarding your students attendance. When a student is marked absent in their class you should receive this automated message. Our goal is to communicate with families regarding their child's attendance in a timely manner. At the Secondary level (Center High and Skogland Middle) if a student is marked with an unexcused tardy a message will be sent starting at 4:20 PM.

If you have questions or concerns regarding who is being contacted please contact the office secretary or make the changes in your Campus profile.

Standard Response Protocol (SRP) Standard Response Protocol (SRP)

Keeping Our Schools Safe

At Center Schools, student safety is always our top priority. Like most schools across the country, we use the Standard Response Protocol (SRP).

This is a simple and clear plan that helps everyone—students, staff, and families—know what to do in different situations.

We want you, as parents, to feel confident knowing that your child is learning and practicing these safety steps throughout the year.

✅ The 5 SRP Actions

  • Hold – Students stay in their classroom while hallways are kept clear.

  • Secure – Everyone comes inside; learning continues as normal.

  • Lockdown – Doors locked, lights out, students stay quiet and out of sight.

  • Evacuate – Students move safely to another location (like during a fire drill).

  • Shelter – Students take safety steps for severe weather or hazards.

By practicing these steps, students and staff are prepared and ready—helping us create a safe place for learning every day.

Play NAIA Registration Fee Update

The Council of Presidents Committee, which oversees the NAIA Eligibility Center, approved a ten-dollar increase in student registration fees. The new fees go into effect September 15, 2025.

Freshmen: $110

· U.S. and Canadian high school students going directly to an NAIA institution immediately after graduation.

Freshmen with a break: $145

· U.S. and Canadian students who took a break between high school graduation and NAIA enrollment, with no previous post-secondary enrollment.

Transfer students: $160

· U.S. and Canadian students who have any post-secondary enrollment after high school graduation.

International students: $170

· Students who graduated high school outside of the U.S. and Canada, have international post-secondary enrollment, or who have international competitive experience.

Encourage your NAIA-bound student-athletes to make payments now to avoid higher fees!

Early Decision Reminder

Students have the opportunity to gain eligibility in the NAIA as early as the completion of their junior year of high school. College coaches look for initiative and early decisions can set your students apart, as well as give them a competitive advantage when it comes to recruitment.

The eligibility center accepts junior-year final, senior mid-year, and senior final transcripts.

Early Decision and Freshman Requirements

Fee Waiver Policy

Students can request a fee waiver for the NAIA Eligibility Center registration fee. All fee waivers are submitted through the NAIA High School Portal, regardless of when the student graduated high school. You can approve or deny the fee waiver by clicking on the green "Assess Fee Waiver" button next to the student's name in your school's portal.

Students are eligible for the registration fee waiver if they meet one of the following qualifications:

· Qualified for a waiver of SAT or ACT testing fees or

· Used the federal free or reduced-priced school lunch program

Additional information can be found here.

"Back to School" Best Practices

· Please review and edit (if necessary) the “Manage Users” list in your school’s account. It is important that this list is up-to-date, as the users appear on the student’s profile for them to reach out to.

· Review the “Resources” tab in your portal for information about the NAIA eligibility process to better assist and educate your students.

College Ave

Paying for college can be stressful. NAIA has partnered with College Ave, a private student loan company, to provide financing options without the stress. Educating high school juniors, seniors, and their families on the many aspects of paying for college is important to College Ave, and because of that, they continually create a broad array of educational content.

For those trying to figure out how they’re going to pay for school, they’ve likely thought about different ways. Please click here to watch a video to learn more. To see more information about College Ave's student loan program, click here.

Parent Tips of the Month Parent Tips of the Month

Talk openly about bullying

October is National Bullying Prevention Month, making it a good time to have an open conversation about this topic.

  • Discuss what bullying is: Teach your child to recognize what bullying looks like and to know that it is not okay.
  • Encourage reporting: If your child sees or experiences bullying, teach them to tell a trusted adult.
  • Practice assertiveness: Role-play calm and confident ways to tell a bully "stop" or to walk away from a bad situation.
  • Highlight kindness: Emphasize the importance of showing kindness to others and helping those who are being bullied.
