Principals'Newsletter - JuneRavenswood Rambler

Hello Ravenswood Families,

We hope your Summer Break is off to a much needed restful start.

Naturally, the end of the year is a time for reflection, and we hope you all are thinking about all of the great accomplishments we had at the end of the school year. Be sure to celebrate your child and fellow Rams this summer!

Here are a few end of year celebrations from SY24:

  • The Willy Wonka Spring Musical was a huge success! Big shout out to our Essentials team, actors, actresses, stage crew, and set design teams!

  • The Biliteracy Ceremony celebrated students' in 5th and 8th grade who passed their Seal of Biliteracy exam. All students had to demonstrate their ability to read, write, speak and listen in their Native Language. We are proud of all of our students for their dedication to their Native Language.

  • We appreciate the families that came out for Disc Golf on 6/1. The students had a great time developing their skills in the sport.

  • Congratulations to Chandler R. who finished 3rd in the 400M and 5th in the 800M and Kellen F. finished 2nd in the 200M in the City Championships These two students were the only 5th graders to receive medals in the City of Chicago Championship for Track. The future is bright for Ravenswood Track!

  • Congratulations to the 5th and 6th Grade boys who won the Network 2 Championship for Flag Football! We are so proud of all of you!

  • The 8th grade students versus Staff Basketball game was such a blast to watch and participate in! Both the staff and students gave it their all and played with so much heart and enthusiasm. The students really put in a lot of effort, but the staff managed to hold their own and come out on top.

  • We are so excited for our 8th Grade Graduates! We wish you all the best and can't wait to see all the places you will go!

  • Field Day was such a blast! Tug of War, Relay Races, 100M Dashes, and Obstacle Courses did not slow anyone down! Shout out to Ms. Conti, Ms. Mary, Coach Paul, and all of our other staff and parents that supported.

Thank you for your continued commitment and support to our school. We appreciate you all!

We'd like to take a quick moment to remind you of the Chicago Public School's policy regarding dogs. Respectfully, dogs are not allowed on the school premises including the playground. Unfortunately, some of our community members have been using the playground as a dog park on the weekends and excrement has had to be cleaned up on multiple occasions on Mondays.

Kindly, please refrain from from bringing your dogs to the playground. Also, if you see dog owners with their pets on the playground, please call 3-1-1 and request CPD to come to the school to address the situation.
