A Message from Dr. Conley

Thank you to everyone who attended our recent parent conferences. It was wonderful to connect with you and discuss your child's progress. Your involvement is vital to their success, and we appreciate your continued support. As we move into April, we want to remind you that state testing is just around the corner. It's essential that your child is present, well-rested, and starts the day with a healthy breakfast to ensure they can do their very best. We appreciate your help in making sure they are prepared for this important time. Please reach out if you have any questions or need additional information.

🌟DAYSE BAKER SPOTLIGHT🌟

This month we are spotlighting the Secondary Day Treatment Program. Here is what Mrs. Lix has to say about the Secondary Day Treatment Program. "The J.E.D.I Knights School-Based Secondary Day Treatment Program is a collaborative behavioral health program between BJC Behavioral Health and the Farmington R-VII School District. The program serves students in grades 9-12. Our goal is to help youth master their social, emotional, and behavioral concerns by providing a highly structured daily environment with various individualized supports for each student."

⚡Wellness Professional Development⚡

On March 14th all staff in the Farmington School District participated in our annual Wellness Professional Development Day! Here are a few things staff had to say.......

Staff #1 My favorite session was yoga! I always feel so good when I get to practice breathing and stretch. I'm so relaxed and grounded afterwards.

Staff #2 Breakout Session: Superhero Pop Art – Channeling Creativity for Wellness

This year marked my fourth time leading an art breakout session, and for the first time, I introduced Superhero Pop Art—and it was a blast! Inspired by this year’s theme, “Unmask Your Inner Superhero,” we explored how creativity can reveal personal strengths, values, and aspirations. Participants designed bold, pop art–style superhero pieces that celebrated their inner resilience and empowered self-expression. Along with the therapeutic benefits of creating art, the session was filled with laughter, encouragement, and fun team camaraderie. I always look forward to these sessions, and this one was especially memorable!

Staff #3 I attended a session titled Understanding Trauma in Foster Care: Supporting Children Through Healing. In this session we were given 5 index cards to write 5 things that mean the most to us. We were asked to give up two. Then asked how hard was it to decide and how did it make us feel. Next the leader asked us to turn our cards upside down and she came by and took another card. The control was in her hands. The lesson was created to help us understand that when children are put into foster care they lose everything all at once and they have no say in the situation. It was a humbling heartbreaking experience that empowered me to continue to see those that need time, patience, love, and understanding.
