We are excited to announce that Sara Southwell has been named the new Principal of Ralya Elementary!

Sara currently serves the district as Associate Principal at Haslett Middle School. She holds a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Ferris State University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Central Michigan University. Before joining Haslett, she served as Assistant Principal at Eaton Rapids Middle School.

With a strong background in teaching third, fourth, and fifth grades, as well as middle school math, Sara brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to Ralya. We are thrilled to welcome her to the team!

Haslett Public Schools utilizes an online verification process each school year. Schools will not be sending home paper Student Information or Emergency/Health forms. Instead, parents or guardians must officially verify and update registration files digitally.

This process not only updates emergency contact information and address changes but it grants permission for students to attend field trips and acknowledges the student handbook/technology ethics/concussion agreements etc. This acknowledgement is necessary for use of district technology and meets district and State of Michigan requirements.

The State of Michigan has approved FREE meals for all students for the 2026-2027 school year. It is imperative that all households continue to fill out the Education Benefits Form as the application is linked to other funding for the school district.
