Message from the Principal
Hi South Park!
As the school year continues to fly by, I wanted to take a moment to share how thankful I am for this community. South Park is made up of incredible students, families, teachers, and school staff. The halls of South Park Middle and High School are filled with people that are connected in so many ways.
The teachers at South Park are committed to ever-improving their instructional practices. That commitment comes from a deep care for our students and for the community we serve. Our teachers know that each student who walks through our doors has unique strengths, goals, and needs, and they work hard to meet those students where they are and help them grow. Many of our staff members live here, raise their families here, and see their students at the grocery store, at games, and around town, so their dedication to doing right by our young people is personal.
The professional development work that our staff does during Early Release days is an important part of that effort. These afternoons give teachers dedicated time to learn from one another, examine student data, refine lessons, and explore new strategies that strengthen what happens in classrooms every day. The time invested on those days comes back to our students in the form of stronger instruction and more support. Please note that we will not have another Early Release day until February.
In the meantime, thank you for entrusting our staff with your child's education. We are all thankful for you!
Happy Thanksgiving,
Erin Ventura

November Dates to Remember
Attendance Matters
Building Strong Habits for Student Success
Every day at school gives students a chance to stay connected, grow in confidence, and make the most of each learning opportunity.
When students arrive on time and attend regularly, lessons flow smoothly and the whole class can enjoy focused, meaningful learning time together. This gives teachers more time to keep lessons moving and less time helping students catch up, so everyone benefits.
Clear Communication Is Essential
We appreciate you letting us know whenever your child is absent. Sharing the reason helps us better understand and support your student’s or family’s needs. Please call Ashley Nafus at the Middle School at 719-836-4406 and Laurence at the high school at 719-836-4409 so we can record the absence as excused rather than unexcused.
Thank you for partnering with us to support regular attendance and student success.
