Welcome Back and Happy New Year!
We hope you all had a restful, joyful winter break and enjoyed some quality time with your loved ones.
We were so excited to see the students’ faces again and hear all about their holiday adventures. As we head into the second half of the school year, we are excited for all the upcoming learning experiences and opportunities that the second semester will bring! Be sure to check out upcoming dates in the weekly Gazette for upcoming events.
Yearbook Sale Starts Today
Yearbooks are on sale through January 30. Order Forms were sent home with students today. You can order online by visiting the HRImaging link . The cost of the yearbook is $18.00. If you order and pay online, you do not need to turn anything in at school. If you choose to pay by check, you will use the order envelope to fill in your information, enclose payment, and return it to school. We prefer that you do not send cash, but if you must, it needs to be the exact amount of $18. We do not have cash on hand at school for change. All orders are due by Friday, January 30, 2026. Reserve your copy today! We anticipate that yearbooks will be delivered to the school and sent home with your students the last week of school.
Safety Drill
The safety and security of our students is our number one priority and practice is part of our ongoing preparation for school safety.
Today at school, we conducted a safety drill that involved a practice emergency drill within the classroom. This drill is part of our ongoing safety plan in collaboration with our Dublin City School Resource Officer and DCS Coordinator of Safety and Security.
When an announcement was made over the intercom prior to the drill, we made it clear that this was a practice drill. Rehearsing these skills helps empower our students and staff to make quick and safe decisions in the event of an emergency. Before, during and after the drill, teachers had the opportunity to talk to students about this practice safety drill. However, due to the sensitive nature, staff took careful consideration of what was discussed and how it was presented. Extreme sensitivity was taken in primary grades. If you wish to discuss it further with your children, you are welcome to do so.
We want our parents to know that we will do everything in our power to keep our students and staff secure on a daily basis. If your student has any questions following an emergency drill, his/her teacher will be happy to address them. Likewise, if you have any questions after a drill, do not hesitate to contact your classroom teacher, Sarah Wilcox, or Lisa Orem at 614-733-0012.
First Semester Progress Reports
Report cards for the first semester will be available for families to view through Infinite Campus on January 10.
At the elementary level, we utilize standards based grading to measure and monitor student progress and achievement. If you would like more information to help explain the grading system and interpreting the grade cards or step by step directions for logging in to the report card in Infinite Campus, you can reference Dublin City School's Guide to Progress Reports.
Eversole Run Middle School Incoming 6th Grade Welcome Night
Hello! My name is Rita Shaffer, and I’m the Principal at Eversole Run Middle School. I’m excited to invite all parents of 5th-grade students who will be joining us next year to our Parent Welcome Night on Thursday, January 29, 2025 at 6:00pm! This will be a wonderful opportunity for us to connect and for you to learn all about what to expect as your child transitions to middle school. We’ll share helpful information on a typical day for a 6th grader and highlight our academic offerings.
Parent Welcome Night is designed for parents and guardians. In the fall, students and their families will be invited to 6th Grade Orientation. During orientation, students will meet their teachers, tour the building, and receive all necessary information for the first few days of school.
We can’t wait to meet you and share in this exciting new chapter together! Go Eagles!

The mClass DIBELS 8 assessment includes short fluency measures that can be used to regularly detect risk and monitor the development of early literacy skills.
