Message from the Executive Director
Dear GLOBE Community,
I am writing to share that Jen Parker, our Director of Facilities, Transportation & Safety, will be leaving The GLOBE Academy at the end of October.
Jen's journey with GLOBE began as a parent, and in 2014, she became a member of our Extended Care Program team. Over the years, she took on a variety of roles, serving as a receptionist, Executive Administrative Assistant, and eventually Director of Operations in January 2023. Most recently, she has served as our Director of Facilities, Transportation & Safety.
Throughout her time at GLOBE, Jen has been part of so many important moments in our school's history. From supporting our day-to-day operations to helping navigate the complexities of two campuses, she has contributed to GLOBE's growth in countless ways. One of her most significant contributions was the instrumental role she played in our transition to the new Lower Campus in 2025, a tremendous undertaking that will continue to benefit our school community for years to come.
What makes Jen's story especially meaningful is that she has experienced GLOBE from so many different perspectives: as a parent, a staff member, and a leader. Her connection to our school spans more than a decade, and we are grateful for the time, energy, and dedication she has given to our community.
As Jen prepares for her next chapter, I hope you will join me in celebrating her many contributions. Next week, I encourage our community to shower Jen with appreciation through notes, cards, and messages of thanks. It would be wonderful for her to leave knowing how much her years of service have meant to GLOBE.
Jen, thank you for being part of GLOBE's story. We wish you happiness and success in whatever comes next. You will be missed!
Warmly,
Christi Elliott-Earby
Executive Director

Exciting things are happening at LC
We are thrilled to announce the launch of the GLOBE Ambassador Program, a new pilot initiative designed to elevate student voice, celebrate leadership, and empower our fifth-grade students to make a meaningful impact across our campus!
Please join us in congratulating the fifth-grade students who have been selected to serve on our student leadership committees. These students have stepped forward with a willingness to serve, collaborate, and help make GLOBE an even more welcoming, inclusive, and connected community. When you see these student leaders around campus, please take a moment to congratulate them and encourage them as they begin this exciting journey!
As we launch this pilot year, we are excited to learn, grow, and build a program that reflects the heart of our school and the values we strive to model every day.
GLOBE Peace Week: October 26–30, 2026
Lower Campus is excited to celebrate Peace Week. This year’s theme, Kindness Knows No Borders, reminds us that each of us has a role in creating a safe, respectful, and caring school community. Throughout the week, students will participate in fun activities, themed dress-down days, morning meeting discussions, and campus-wide events designed to help them practice kindness, empathy, respect, and peaceful problem-solving. Look out for an email tomorrow with all of the details.
As part of Peace Week, we are collecting donations to support the STEAM Center at Paulding, a nonprofit program that supports children and families through science and STEAM learning. Suggested donations include wipes, Kleenex, hand sanitizer, art supplies, Legos, science related children's books, science kits/projects, and other STEAM related hands on learning materials.
Families can send donations to school with their students and drop them off during carpool. Our fifth grade ambassadors will help collect the items and support this service project. Thank you for helping our students put peace and community into action!

Kindergarten French Track (Ms. Harbuck and Mme Ntoya)
Our kindergarten class is embarking on an exciting, year-long, cross-curricular project that integrates science, English Language Arts (ELA), mathematics, and French language development. Inspired by Pumpkin Jack, written and illustrated by Will Hubbell, students explored the life cycle of a pumpkin before carving our very own pumpkin and placing it, along with soil, inside a sealed glass jar.
Throughout the school year, students will observe and document the pumpkin’s fascinating transformation, from decomposition to the emergence of a new pumpkin plant in the spring. As part of this hands-on investigation, students are building their French vocabulary and oral language skills by using French sentence stems to describe their observations, such as « Je vois une citrouille orange ! » (I see an orange pumpkin!) and « La citrouille se décompose ! » (The pumpkin is decomposing!).
Each student has a personal documentation journal in which they sketch and describe their observations weekly, strengthening their scientific observation skills, writing abilities, mathematical thinking, French language proficiency, and understanding of plant life cycles. Through this engaging, real-world investigation, our young scientists will discover the wonders of nature, the importance of careful observation, and the remarkable process of new life while making meaningful connections across multiple subject areas!
Día de los Muertos
This year, our Lower Campus community will be celebrating and learning about Día de los Muertos, a beautiful tradition that honors and remembers the lives of loved ones who have passed away.
If you would like to participate, please send a printed photo of a loved one who has passed away by Wednesday, October 28. Please have your child give the photo to their teacher. We also welcome photos of beloved pets, as they are cherished members of many families. See last week’s newsletter for further details.
Fifth Grade End of Year Celebration
We’re looking for volunteers from current fourth grade students to help plan this year’s Fifth Grade End of Year Celebration. If you’re the parent of a current fourth grader and would like to serve on this committee, please email Ms. Blunt @ cblunt@theglobeacademy.net.

Physical Education & Health - CPR & First Aid Unit
The Upper Campus PE Department would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Carey and Richard Lamphier for teaching CPR to our middle school students! Carey and Richard have both been nurses in the Atlanta area for over 20 years and are the owners of RML Associates, which offers a variety of CPR training classes.
Learning CPR is an important, potentially life-saving skill, and we appreciate their commitment to helping our students gain this valuable knowledge. Students will have the opportunity to get certified in CPR if they are able to demonstrate the proper knowledge and CPR techniques next Wednesday. Thank you, Carey and Richard!

Fall Sports Roundup
The cross-country season came to an exciting close yesterday as both the boys’ and girls’ teams competed in the championship race. Our runners represented GLOBE with determination, teamwork, and incredible effort, giving us plenty of reasons to celebrate.
The boys continued to show tremendous growth throughout the season. Their hard work, dedication, and perseverance paid off as they continued to improve their times, build confidence, and push themselves to new levels. We are so proud of their progress and commitment. Congratulations to the seven boys who represented GLOBE: Christian Kirouac, Aero Teufel, Kamden Scott, Hampton Rogers, Michael Green, Paxton Elias, and Walt Posyack.
And the girls? CHAMPIONS AGAIN!
Congratulations to all seven girls who represented GLOBE in the championship race: Adelaide Thrift, Beatriz Teixeira-Staples, Finlee White, Reva Martin, Lydia Ma, Kayleigh Turner, and Emily McLendon. The girls delivered another outstanding performance, capturing the Conference Championship for the second consecutive year! This remarkable accomplishment is a testament to their talent, consistency, teamwork, and dedication. Truly impressive, four GLOBE girl runners finished in the top 10: Adelaide Thrift took 2nd place, Bea Teixeira-Staples finished 3rd, Finlee White earned 5th place, and Reva Martin finished 6th!
A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to all our GLOBE runners!
A special thank-you and congratulations to Coach Holder, our athletics directors, and all the parents and families who supported our runners throughout the season. Your time, encouragement, and commitment make such a difference, and these accomplishments are a reflection of the wonderful community surrounding our athletes. Way to go, GLOBE. What a season!
Boys Soccer, what a game!
GLOBE Boys Soccer Team A is heading to the CHAMPIONSHIP after an absolutely epic semifinal victory yesterday. After battling to a 0–0 tie through overtime, our boys kept their composure through an incredible penalty shootout, taking eight rounds of penalties to secure the win.
GLOBE takes the field this Thursday for a chance to win the championship title. Let’s show our boys some love and cheer them on. GO GLOBE!
