Hello Talbot Families

I hope you and your family are enjoying a great summer filled with relaxation, reflecting, recharging, and of course make lasting memories. As we begin a new school year, I look forward to welcoming both our returning families, and those joining our school community for the first time. The start of a new school year brings fresh opportunities for learning, growing, exploring, and discovering.

At Talbot we believe that a strong partnership between home and school is one of the greatest factors in student success. I encourage you to stay connected throughout the year by attending family events, reading the weekly Sunday Talbot Newsletter, attending Parent Council sponsored events, and reaching out to your child's teacher whenever you have questions or concerns. Together, we can ensure that every student has an impactful educational experience.

Below you will find some important dates that are coming up for you and your child. You will also find some helpful links regarding morning drop off/afternoon pick up procedures. Make sure you also check out the great things Talbot's Parent Council has planned for the month of September. Please know that our goal is to make the transition back to school as smooth as possible for every family.

Talbot's PC Back To School Social Activity

Summer's grand finale is at the Ralph Talbot Playground! Our littlest Wildcats go first: Kindergarten Welcome Hour runs 5:00–6:00 PM, where every kindergartner gets a lei, makes a name tag, and meets new friends before the big first day (cue the happy tears, grown-ups). Then from 6:00–7:00 PM the WHOLE school is invited to our Popsicle Social — free popsicles for every student! Swing by the RTPC table to sign up as a Room Parent and scan our volunteer QR codes while the kids burn off that popsicle sugar.

To view your child’s classroom placement (Grades K-5), as well as bus stop, (if your child takes a bus), please log on to the Aspen Portal, on or after Friday, August 21, 2026 @3:00PM
Kindergarten families received an email on Friday, August 21st with an assigned time for Kindergarten Orientation which will occur on Thursday, September 3rd.
The first day of school for Grades 1-5 is on Thursday, September 3, 2026. This is a half day for students, with dismissal at 11:50 AM.
The first day of school for kindergarten students will be Friday, September 4, 2026. This is a full day of school for all Talbot students K - 5.
